Grand Canyon to Flagstaff. Joshua Tree National Park. If future generations are to remember us with gratitude rather than contempt, we must leave them something more than the miracles of technology. We must leave them a glimpse of the world as it was in the beginning, not just after we got through with it. Our fin...

Aug 20, 2016. Another double-bubble post to finish with, which saw us travel from Chamonix. Back home, via an evening stopover in Dijon. We had to be out of the apartment and handing the keys back before 10am. It was another quite grey day up above with the promise of it getting rainy later. It didn’t really slow us down much though, but that was mainly because the “slowing down” was caused by an incident on the motorway around the south side of Geneva. Which caused a bit of a jam. The first stop, which ...

It’s a great idea, and I’ve now placed a few of my own, photos of which are interspersed below with the photos of the ones I’ve found. Church Micro 631: Toft.

May 14, 2014. Over the last few weeks I’ve been getting more interested and more knowledgeable about mapping on my new Garmin, having previously been through the pain of creating and installing my own custom icons. After a discussion made during a long walk around Rutland. Last weekend a friend asked me how I have managed to install Ordnance Survey maps at 1:25000 onto my Garmin using Garmin’s BaseCamp tool. Following a few links on Facebook and elsewhere I ended up buying TalkyToaster. BirdsEye Select O...

Running is Kas’ great passion, and to some extent it’s a passion of Kev’s too. And the girls dabble in a bit every now and then. It keeps us off the streets. Technically, I suppose it keeps us on the streets. Here are a few of the events we’ve visited recently. Grand Tour of Skiddaw. September 3, 2016. Kas somehow got it into her mind that it would be a good-fun idea to run an ultra-marathon in Cumbria to finish off the summer holidays. May 29, 2016. October 24, 2015. November 15, 2014. The End of the World | The Gardners
http://www.the-gardners.co.uk/2015/sagres-and-cabo-de-sao-vicente
The End of the World. Aug 3, 2015. We got up early this morning with the prospect of a moderately long drive ahead of us. The drive in question would take us to the End of the World, which in this corner of the world means the far southwestern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. Unlike below Land’s End. It’s not actually the most southerly part of the peninsula. Southern Spain below Cadiz. Is much further south. OK, so it’s the southwestern tip of mainland Portugal. It bears some similarity to Land’s End.
