Sunday, October 13, 2013. Lake MooMaw closed due to government shut down. I have been planning a fly fishing trip to Lake MooMaw for this upcoming week. The idea was to spend a little time on the lake but most of my time on the Jackson River fly fishing. I have been planning, tying some new flies, a little casting out in the yard to practice up and eagerly awaiting this week. Boy was I wrong! What do you mean the national forest is shut down (which includes Lake MooMaw)? How do you shut down a forest?
