Whether it shall be the true pin, or whether the ball-race, only fishing them will I know. Centerpinning at 3,000 cfs. The 7 gram clear Drennan loafer float uprighted itself trailing 11 dark grey sure shots, sized (5 AAA, 3 AB, 3 BB) on the 9 12lb Trilene XT green moss leader down to the ant-sized black Spro swivel and 18 of 3x Rio fluorocarbon tippet. Swiftly, the whole spawn bag/egg bead rig swept down the current of the Big Mo (Muskegon River, MI). The magic of the C&D system lay in its ability to del...

DW Fly Fishing and Tying: Pursuing the UKs wild trout and grayling with the fly. Saturday, 1 November 2014. The grayling season is upon us, although it feels more like September. October 31st recorded 20 deg C and it feels strange! I have been lucky to find grayling on every visit so far, and whilst the largr fish are proving elusive, the fish I have caught have been on dries as well as nymphs. I am looking forward to plenty more! The next show is IFISH. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wye and Usk Fo...

DW Fly Fishing and Tying: Pursuing the UKs wild trout and grayling with the fly. Saturday, 3 December 2011. My new favourite toy! The perfect balancing act:. With the recent (and very welcome! Starting fly choice was a slim, heavy-weight caddis imitation and a pink-beaded biot nymph:. Each pool and run was finding plenty of small fish. The delicacy and accuracy of this rod was immediately obvious. The nymphs could be flicked onto a penny piece. When lifting into takes, the rod tip was immedia...Time was ...

Now offers a new range of patterns to cover every stage if the Danica hatch. Regardless of whether you always buy flies or you are a seasoned tyer, these come highly recommended. River Fly Box: Hanak Czech Nymph Micro Spiral Indicator

DW Fly Fishing and Tying: Pursuing the UKs wild trout and grayling with the fly. Sunday, 6 March 2011. Hanak Czech Nymph Micro Spiral Indicator. Whatever you use to tell you the moment when a fish has inhaled your nymphs, indicators are essential for consistent and successful nymphing. Delivered to me this week was the Hanak Competition Czech Nymph Micro Spiral Indicator. The spirals are really tight and small. Probably just 1mm in diameter;. 2) Doesn't tangle and requires little maintenance. When a fish...

DW Fly Fishing and Tying: Pursuing the UKs wild trout and grayling with the fly. Saturday, 19 April 2014. A handsome buzzer-feeding rainbow. Ian with the first fish of the day on a black buzzer. Early season hatches are usually a civilised affair, with the bounty occuring at around lunchtime. We have had some good flurries of Grannom that have brought the fish to the surface. Make the most of these though as they are gone as quickly as they started. A plkump Garnnom-feeding brownie taken on the dry.

Both river and lake have offered the goods. On the river, I am yet to tie on a nymph, with every fish willing to rise to a variety of different naturals. Mainly midges and Large Dark Olives have been on the menu. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A member of the Partridge International Pro-Team. Maxia Rods Pro Team.

River Fly Box: September 2014
http://davewiltshireflytying.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
DW Fly Fishing and Tying: Pursuing the UKs wild trout and grayling with the fly. Sunday, 28 September 2014. A couple of good fish on weed bed patrol. This can be electrifying sport - fish crashing though the shoals only to turn a mop of the injured fish left in the upper layers makes for stunning fishing. It can often sort out the better fish too. The fish are usually patrolling the edges of weedbeds and happy to swim in shallow water. A pattern for Corixa or fry imitation. Monday, 1 September 2014.
