To monitor your ASP.NET applications then you definitely should be, it’s an awesome tool providing a huge insight into how your application is running in the real world. On programming and stuff. On programming and stuff. Showing 1 post tagged SQL. Backing up all databases in Microsoft SQL Server. I’m not a big fan of Maintenance Plans. I know they can work quite well, but I don’t like the UI and the way it hides the actual SQL being used. Yesterday I set about writing a stored proc that can manage backups (full and transaction log) for all databases on a server. We source control (using the awesome SQL Source Control. From Red Gate) this script in our db maintenance.

As a way of steam-lining the reporting for our team’s morning stand-up meetings. Previously I was keeping things in a list in Trello. But my personal Trello boards were getting out of control so I’m hoping iDoneThis will be a good way of moving some of the clutter elsewhere. Had created a workflow for the Alfred launcher. Open a Terminal window.

On programming and stuff. On programming and stuff. Gmail, custom domain name and “on behalf of…”. I use Gmail for all my different email addresses including some custom domain names. One of the annoying things with the default setup is that it includes the “Sender” field in the message, for DomainKeys compatiblity, which some email clients (Outlook and Hotmail for starters) use to display the email as “From myemail@gmail.com on behalf of myemail@mycustomdomain.com”. This just looks ugly.

Blessed are the Hungry

Blessed are the Hungry. Wednesday, 14 January 2015. So it’s time for me to write an update. Time has flown by since I arrived here in Brazil and it’s hard to believe that I have been here for more than a month already! Much has happened in this past month and a half and I would like to share with you what God has been doing and what is coming up in the near future. One of our main focuses at the moment is preparing for a missions school that we are going to be having starting March 9th and going until th...
