Saturday, July 3, 2010. Monticello, the home of President Thomas Jefferson was amazing. The architecture was gorgeous and innovative features within the home were astounding. From weekly calendar clock on the wall, to Jefferson's alcove bed between his cabinet (study) and bed chamber, to the wine dumb waiter hidden in the fireplace. Friday, May 14, 2010. I have finally been to California. Last weekend I went to San Francisco and it was a blast. I had no idea that there were so many hills and rolling meadows there. For some reason I envisioned it being more flat, especially being right near the ocean. Downtown San Francisco was beautiful. We ate lunch at the Sea Lion cafe with breathtaking views of Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and of course the famous sea lions of pier 39. I cannot wait for my next adventure in California.
