Every day in the water. Newer posts →. A fine day for fog. August 16, 2014. Photo by John Grieve. Fog is a rarity at Willi beach, so many thanks to John Grieve for taking this pic shortly after his Saturday dip on 16 August. Here’s hoping John, and other swimmers, didn’t crash into each other – or dolphins or seals – in the fog. Dawn photos by Kevin Moran. July 31, 2014. Until Friday of this week, the tide has been very low lately. Kevin Moran took these photos on Monday 28 July. July 24, 2014. Tony Kell...

Every day in the water. December 23, 2014. The Big Issue has just published. It’s a story about racing pigeons and swimming nuns. About technology and memory. About marathons and the sun. About flying and snorkelling. It’s a story about the sea and the desert. It’s a story about talking to a mate at the Williamstown beach. Is available from street vendors: edition 474 (26 December 2014 to 8 January 2015). This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Get eve...

Porcelain Pieces by Michael Harwood | 365 swims
https://365swims.wordpress.com/2014/06/13/porcelain-pieces
Every day in the water. Porcelain Pieces by Michael Harwood. June 13, 2014. Photo and poem by Michael Harwood. Back to the beach. To hide or reflect. Drink from the cup of neglect. Swim out, so far from the shore. Lie on the floor. Glitter in a moon bold and full. Crushed by the rampaging bull. Your taste on my tongue. Is it a hunger or thirst? Why can’t passion come first? Back to the beach. Am I just one grain of sand? To be held in your hand. This entry was posted in beach poetry. June 1st, 2013.

Kevin’s year of verse | 365 swims
https://365swims.wordpress.com/2014/12/22/kevins-year-of-verse
Every day in the water. Kevin’s year of verse. December 22, 2014. Kevin Moran unveiled his annual Willy Dolphin poem at the Willy Dolphins’ annual breakfast on Monday morning, 22 December, at the Rotunda. I will share with you the chatter that went on throughout the year; the topics didn’t matter because none of it was clear. Messages by email, floated through cyber space; egos couldn’t be frail, it was about saving face. We discovered new poets. Away from the beach we socialize; exchanging rumours that ...

The novice | 365 swims

Every day in the water. January 26, 2015. At the end of the innings I slip off my black flippers and emerge from the water, waist-deep in the shallows of the sanctuary. At the end of the innings I slide off my snorkel and make my way to the shore. At the end of the innings I take off my black gloves, head across the sand as the saltwater drains from my wetsuit. I was a no-spin slow bowler whom the skipper would summon from the deep when we needed to buy a wicket. Put all the fielders on the boundary,...

Every day in the water. The Doplhins’ Ice Bucket Edition (part 1). September 15, 2014. Kevin and Pat took up the ice bucket challenge recently, with hopes of others following suit. It could be argued, could it not, that the Dolphins answer the ice bucket challenge each and every day. Not that the Willy water ever turns to ice. But it gets pretty chilly. Kevin warms up for his morning dip. Pat cools down after his morning swim. This entry was posted in ice bucket challenge. And tagged ice bucket challenge.
