The top was rotten, so I got a replacement and the old one has been in the garage roof for six years. It is too long and too thick for a Guillemot, but the is the right sized mast inside it. Building an Iain Oughtred 11ft 6in Guillemot dinghy. Took her down to the cotswold water park and finally launched her. And she works. Easy to row, although longer oars would be better and I need to fit foot blocks to the floor boards. Doesn’t turn quickly because of the deep skeg. Sails raised quite easily, but it will take a while to get the correct points to lash the halyard and downhaul. But fundamentally, I have built a boat that sails. One comment on “ She floats!
