As my time in Italy studying abroad comes to an end, I wanted to take at least one more day trip to see another part of this beautiful country. Siena lies in Tuscany just below Florence near San Gimignano. It is a beautiful little town with just one main piazza where the traditional horse races take place every summer, dating back to the 16th century. Sunday, May 11, 2014. Mother's Day, 2014. Today was harder than any other Mother's Day I've had. I'm not even sure why. I have been dreading it for weeks. I had even bought myself a necklace and almost lost it when I held it in my hands for the first time. It is so beautiful. It also has 7 clear stones in it for my 7 Angel babies. I texted him, "I am a mother.". Before we got off the phone, his last few words of the conversation were, "Wear your necklace proud, baby." I told him that I absolutely will.
