You Can Never Go Home. Institute Of Morphoid Research. It seemed that once Akkermans had discovered the first Morphoid, there were many more to be revealed. Many more Morphoids, of all shapes and sizes, have been carefully observed and photographed both in their natural environments and in the laboratory since 2010. They are unlike any animals seen before, in that the Morphoids have a few very distinct defining characteristics:. 1) They are ambiguous creatures, and often seem to imitate other animals;.

Sepal | Institute of Morphoid Research
http://imr.jenniferakkermans.com/category/morphoids/sepal
Meet the Morphoids: Sepal. Is the first Morphoid I discovered. Despite his effective camouflage, I had noticed him scurry under a bush during one of my daily walks through Fish Creek Park here in Calgary. I wasn’t sure what it was at first. I had never seen anything like it. It seemed to resemble a botanical form I’ve studied- the part connects the stem of a plant to it’s flower, the sepal, and so I was calling this Morphoid. Before I had even an inkling of what a Morphoid was. Sepal, Pteropod and Scarab...

This is a photo one of our readers sent in of something they had seen this summer. It’s a probably a Scarabaeidae. Diagram: Scarabaeidae Version 2. Or maybe it’s more like something like this one…. This is a diagram of Scarabaeidae’s external anatomy. Sepal,...
