thesbian pulp: May 2006
http://davinacohen.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 31, 2006. It's not everywhere that one hears people roaming the halls at night muttering lines from Dante's Inferno to themselves. Magic Madness. Magic. Posted by D at 7:56 PM. Weather.com tells me it's 70 degrees outside. That may be true, but in my room it's at least 80 with the humidity/sweat/tiger balm factor. I'm doing laundry, eating cashews, and drinking tea (fuckit, factor that in with the heat). Res=9804E4DF1E38F930A35755C0A964948260) featuring the inimitable Kayoko Shiraishi.

thesbian pulp: October 2006
http://davinacohen.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 30, 2006. What to call this post? Big Love is closed. The final show was fantastic - full house, people sitting on the stairs. I had a crazy cake-induced sneezing fit (3 times during the trial scene). Lots of friends in the audience. Amazing end to an amazing experience to an amazing period of my life. My first show as an Equity actor and my last show as a resident of SF for the foreseeable future. We struck the set and repainted the theater black. But that's the boring logistical part of...

thesbian pulp: September 2006
http://davinacohen.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 26, 2006. The show is open! No reviews yet apart from audience raves (the most important kind, really). I'm in LA through Wednesday. We played wobbly tennis in the sweaty heat and in a few hours we'll have a romp around Japantown to have dinner and buy new tabi. Then we'll see What To Wear, the Richard Foreman/Michael Gordon rock opera:. Http:/ redcat.org/season/0607/the/whattowear.php. Posted by D at 4:03 PM. Friday, September 22, 2006. An audience member speaks. Plus it has the ever ...

So, I'm back in San Francisco. I'm elated to be here. Sunday, July 30 @ 12 pm @ The Magic Theatre (Fort Mason Center) - a staged reading of Tim Bauer's Beyond Words part of the Bay Area Shorts program in the BAPF. I haven't seen the script yet, but I hear fantastic things and I get to play a Hungarian pop star. Check out htt...

thesbian pulp: January 2007

Wednesday, January 31, 2007. I'm totally ecstatic about the cheek-kissing upon meeting and parting - I don't usually get to kiss so many people and, of course, it's just so not the way things are done in the US. We're not talking about snooty air-kisses, here, we're talkng right-on, genuine, pleased-to-meet-you smooches. Posted by D at 10:37 AM. Saturday, January 27, 2007. Do not attend yoga classes on the weekend. More exciting Brazilian trivia to come. Posted by D at 7:37 PM. I m in Brazil! New York, NY.

thesbian pulp: March 2007
http://davinacohen.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 30, 2007. A fantastic little song I learned in Brazil. I now know, however, that it's actually a frevo song (and someone can - please! Jump in and correct me if I'm wrong), from the Recife area in the northeast of Brazil. The ciranda is, I think, the name of the dance I learned to accompany the song. It involves holding hands in a circle. Eu fui na Praia do Janga. Pra ver a ciranda. E o seu cirandar. O mar estava tão belo. E um peixe amarelo. Não era peixe, não era. Era Iemanjá, a rainha.

thesbian pulp: November 2006
http://davinacohen.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 29, 2006. I've found a couple of spots that are perfect for sitting still, watching the clouds move and the people pass, and listening to music or sounds of the city. Some perfect "art-brain" locations:. Greenwich and Vestry (there's a little green cubbyhole in the side of a building). When I get my hands on a new digital camera I will begin documenting my favorite nooks. Posted by D at 1:13 PM. Monday, November 20, 2006. Woyzeck @ St. Ann's Warehouse. Posted by D at 4:32 AM. I kept w...

Friday, June 30, 2006. Too bad about her cousin, back in the 80s. I saw Dead City by Sheila Callaghan this evening and then I rode the 1 train home with Olymia Dukakis. Well, not with her, per se: we were separated by about 4 feet, the space where the car doors open. But it was a largely vacant car. She wore flip flops and dark maroon polish on her toenails. She thanked me. Then we rode in silence, reading our programs. Posted by D at 8:30 PM. Thursday, June 29, 2006. They don't know what they're missing.

thesbian pulp: August 2006
http://davinacohen.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 31, 2006. We've moved into TJT. Big Love rehearsals are taking place in the space! A month before we open - almost unheard of! Our set is not yet built because there's other stuff happening in TJT before we preview, but at least we get to work with a fair amount of our actual architecture. The only downside is that TJT is too far from the yoga studio for me to attend KK's Tuesday/Thursday class from 4:30 to 6. You can read about the fabulous KK here:. Posted by D at 9:28 AM. I get fabulo...
