In the afternoon, we took a small water taxi out to a nearby motu. Had evidence of a lesson on coconut cracking and peeling. It seems very important to the locals that visitors learn this before leaving because we were instructed in this several times the past week. It involves a sharp stick planted in the ground. The interior is well worth a visit with beautiful wood and many mosaics, tapestries, paintings and other decorative arts. You can take an elevator to the roof for views over the city. The National Museum of Australia is worth seeing for the architecture alone,. National Museum of Australia across the lake (Telestra Tower behind).
