The Chapmans in Peru. Posted by The Chapmans. On Thursday, April 14, 2011. Im sitting here this morning praying for Sara. Sara is 11 years old. There are a lot of reasons why Sara's life should be without hope. She lives in a small shack with a dirt floor, a straw mattress and one blanket to share with her mom, and her 14 and 2 year old sisters. She is sullen and downcast, too timid to make eye contact for long. She has been forced by her mom to exchange sexual favors for food. My soul is in deep anguish.

Monday, July 23, 2012. John was on his surgery rotation and he had just had some classes on how to suture, so he had me buy some chicken that he could practice suturing on. He put on his gloves and got all his instruments and then he decided there wasn't enough light in the kitchen, so he went and found a headlight my dad got us and he was all set to go. Then I got a turn to try out all the new skills John taught me. John is pretty much a suturing pro, so how could his student not be exceptional too?
