I've always enjoyed drawing and used to fill the backs of my exercise books at school with silly stuff. "I wish I could do that" boys would say. It's been useful for designing jewellery, making sculptures and set designs for TV related jobs, and the few years of architecture I practiced. I decided to do illustration work about 20 years ago, and have enjoyed a fairly wide variety of work from technical work to a loose, cartoony style (see below). Self employed in 1979. Early Work - Inlay. Thursday, 12 August 2010. I loved making these things. It all flowed with. A glowing liveliness which seemed to stay in. The piece . 25mm. Malachite, ivory (certified), and abalone. With silver and gold. 40mm. Ebony, abalone, ivory, silver and gold. 40mm. Different parts of the abalone shell lend themselves. To the different elements of a scene. 35mm. There's a bit of the shell which is just like the waves. You can't see in a photo the wonderful light and colour. And this. 35mm.

Thursday, 20 May 2010. Back to sculpture page. Christopher George dumped this ingenious model on me to translate into a full set. You can click on these to see them larger.). I had to create scale drawings of plans, elevations and sections of each panel and the whole model so that it could be built. And here's a sketch view for the producers. It was fun to work on and the artists enjoyed painting the houses and wall murals. Here's a short 'silent' of the thing. It's a bit crappy though!
