A year in the Horn of Africa. To keep updated on Abaarso’s news, check out the school’s Facebook. As for me, I’ve since left the Horn of Africa, switched careers, and have moved to Southeast Asia. I still come back to this blog every once in awhile, and have read with great interest the comments left by various visitors. I look forward to hearing more inspiring news from Abaarso and am forever grateful for the incredible year I spent in Somaliland with such motivated and talented students.

The clan system is extremely important in Somaliland and most people can trace their clan lineage back over many generations. My Life in Romania
Saturday, December 06, 2008. I decided to make my final post from RO a dedication to the dogs: Shaggy and One-Eye. One-Eye says "la revedere" :). I taught Shaggy a new trick. I wish I had discovered it a year ago- I could have been on Top Dog by now! So this is it- my last posting from Romania. Tomorrow morning I board a 10 hour train to Bucharest. I'll spend a couple of days in Buch doing my final paperwork close of service stuff, then I'm flying home on Wed. We'll talk to you next from state-side!
