Journey 4 Hope: September 2013
http://journey4hope.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Have I not been a good example of adoption to those around me? Am I not purposeful enough in my conversations with others about adoption? What is His plan? Friday, September 6, 2013. Back in July, I received this message from the FOVC Ethiopia Director. The day after the distribution of livestock, I received this official report from Children's Hope Chest:. The attached pictures show the sample for the distribution of both cows and sheep. The animals were given by Governm...

Journey 4 Hope: Privileged Perspective
http://journey4hope.blogspot.com/2013/11/privileged-perspective.html
Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Lonely. Dishonor. Guilty. Those can be some pretty heavy words. Words from my last post. I mentioned feeling lonely because others in our community hadn't adopted. I mentioned questioning if I'd dishonored God by not carefully choosing my conversations. I most certainly had guilt over it. For the past several months, I've been calling to question everything I believe about adoption. This seemingly good. There is an orphan crisis. Does anyone know the definition of orphan? Abso-...
Journey 4 Hope: Haile Babamo school
http://journey4hope.blogspot.com/2014/11/haile-babamo-school.html
Monday, November 24, 2014. This is the fundraiser that I haven't said much about but I am very passionate about. Teamed up with the Althoff family, we've raised over half of our $10,000 goal. But I'm here to say that it's not because of me. Dear friends, could you give $5, $10, a thousand dollars or somewhere in between to this precious project? Meghan, from Roots Ethiopia, will be there next week and I'd love for her to have good news for those at the Haile Babamo school. Click here to donate. Sanitatio...

We had so much fund, and the kids did really well. We went to the Fort Worth Zoo. Played a lot and really enjoyed being together. Petals of Zuzu: April 2011
http://petalsofzuzu.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
April 29, 2011. Adoption milestones are popping up every time I turn around. We just celebrated Reagan's 2. Nd birthday a few weeks ago. Birthday, I spent more than one night boo-hooing the hours away. Feeling absolutely sick to my stomach. There were times I felt if we couldn't, "make it there" by her 1st birthday-. Would turn out right. I was sure that our bonding would be forever screwed. That in those few weeks. she would be lost. This invisible clock starts ticking away. I felt so helpless. I hear o...
A Rock and A Hard Place | Semi-Feral Mama
https://semiferalmama.wordpress.com/2013/05/13/a-rock-and-a-hard-place
Domesticated but not exactly domestic. Wanting to trust humans, but not afraid to use my claws. A Rock and A Hard Place. What if you had to chose between bringing your newly adopted Haitian son home to the USA sooner, or being able to tell the truth about a fake adoption agency exploiting Haitian women, innocent children and hopeful Prospective Adoptive Parents? What if the Haitian courts ordered those people to give you back the documents that were rightfully yours and they refused? She needs our help.
I Love New Yorkers | Semi-Feral Mama

Domesticated but not exactly domestic. Wanting to trust humans, but not afraid to use my claws. I Love New Yorkers. After spending more than seven hours in the Ft. Lauderdale airport on Monday, I found myself trying to check into a Fairm0nt Inn at 9:00 pm with my family in tow. We ended up at the back of the hotel check-in line which was dominated by families in the same boat as us, most of whom I had been developing relationships with throughout the evening, none of whom had kids as young as ours. At on...
Shaking Out My Keyboard | Semi-Feral Mama
https://semiferalmama.wordpress.com/2013/05/01/shaking-out-my-keyboard
Domesticated but not exactly domestic. Wanting to trust humans, but not afraid to use my claws. Shaking Out My Keyboard. I literally just shook out my keyboard. It also made me want to get an “everything” bagel, because that is what all the crumbs and dust reminded me of. And I just ended that sentence with a preposition. So maybe I am not as ready to come back to writing as I thought. But I got some things to say. Only time will tell. As for today…. It is the anniversary of the day I took this picture.
Thank You, Brad and LL | Semi-Feral Mama
https://semiferalmama.wordpress.com/2013/04/11/thank-you-brad-and-ll
Domesticated but not exactly domestic. Wanting to trust humans, but not afraid to use my claws. Thank You, Brad and LL. I consider where I live, college-town, Missouri, to be the pseudo-south. I decided to read history. Now, I am not going to claim it was in-depth research – it was Wikipedia. But I am going to claim that I now know more than I did a few minutes ago. I went and examined a little bit of history to see if it could shed some light on my current day perception of race relations in Missouri.

After Chiang Mai it was another night train in a sleeper car to Bangkok and several days in Bangkok to see the sights. Of course we had to work around President Obama's schedule (they closed some sights for his visit). We did our best to enjoy the wonderful local food and as many massages as we could squeeze in. My Journey For Joanie
My Journey For Joanie. One beautiful spring afternoon I came home from work. I was exhausted but delighted to. Hear the phone ring and see the caller ID light up Mom. Running to answer the phone, I. Had no idea how much life was about to change. My mom’s voice rang in my ear and I noticed something wasn’t right. After a few. Quivering attempts she handed the phone to my dad weakly pleading, Glenn? Slowly, with a cracked voice, proceeded to tell me that Mom was just diagnosed with. Moments we did spend to...
