Mrs. Stone's Needle : Knitting and spinning...
http://mrsstonesneedle.blogspot.com/2005/01/knitting-and-spinning.html
Arts and crafts that our great-grandmothers and their mothers before them knew intimately, and modern uses, too! Saturday, January 08, 2005. Actually, I am doing great on my shawl. Measured it again, and the gauge is coming out close to 3 stitches an inch, and i have about 125 rows done, and I think something around 150 rows will give me something like a 50 inch across width.so I should finish it this week. Ran across this song today, called the Spinning Wheel. Mellow the moonlight to shine is beginning.

Arts and crafts that our great-grandmothers and their mothers before them knew intimately, and modern uses, too! Tuesday, December 28, 2004. I have been somewhat busy, but did get a little needlework done. After fighting with dropping the brioche stitch combo one time too many, I put it on the side for awhile. First I started a triangular piece:. Continuing on until I got tired of it. It's a size for a doll shawl, but it would make a nice winter shawl done full sized. Slip the first stitch, k2p1 accross,...

http://mrsstonesneedle.blogspot.com/2005/01/time-to-post.html
Arts and crafts that our great-grandmothers and their mothers before them knew intimately, and modern uses, too! Monday, January 24, 2005. Hadn't forgotten about this blog, but I had been under the weather. This is what I have been doing:. I finished the shawl.155 stitches across. It's mostly long enough to use, but not as deep as I would like it, so now I am contemplating either a crocheted or knit border, but haven't made my mind up yet. Multiple of 3 2 (so, say 24 stitches plus two more).

Row 2, increase the first stitch, but continue the k5 p5 pattern. At this point you should have 125 stitches. When you are on that last row that gives you the 125th stitch,. On the remai...

I have been working on an old Godey's pattern someone asked me to help them with. It's for an undersleeve knitted in brioche stitch, with a ruffled cuff that looks sort of like peacock stitch, but created in a conical fashion. I will persevere.or get back to my green sock!
