Super Epic Photo Update: Part 5. The next day (having returned to Bath after leaving Glastonbury) we drove out of Bath and headed east. This was a little area of countryside not far from the city. The town of Frome (pronounced Froom). Frome has some very quaint little streets in it. Since it was a Sunday they were all extremely quiet. Some of Frome's streets are very similar to Bath's, lined with lots of old, Georgian buildings. Soon we were off across the great Salisbury Plain. A building dated 1268.

Treefingers, the ambient 'piece' that forms the centre of Kid A is a constant source of amusement to my friends. If I play my friends a Radiohead track, it's always Treefingers. I do it just for the look of utter bemusement on their faces. The track that started it all, for me, at least. Everyone knows the intro to this song, but hardly anyone (Radiohead fans aside, of course) can remember the lyrics, which must be up there with Thom's greatest achievements. Knives Out had the longest gestation period of any of the songs from the Kid A / Amnesiac sessions. To this end, I cannot begin to imagine how much Thom must have been worried about his guitar part because the vocal strikes me as being one of the laziest and most grating in the band's back catalogue. 10/4/07 11:24 am (UTC). I'm sorry you feel that way. I've always realled like this song. Thom's vocal is beautiful, very haunting in parts, and the interplay between the guitars is great. I was enjoying this!
