Wednesday, October 31, 2007. A Visit to the Hefei Zoo. We started this morning with a very unwelcomed phone call to the kids' room.at 5:50AM! By the time Kevin ran to the phone, they had hung up. Darn it all.and I was actually sleeping well! Not anymore. We were ALL awakened, so we all got up! Carson is such a ham.whenever I take a candid photo of him, he squints his eyes shut and says, "Cheeeeeeeeeese! It was so nice to see Carson in clothes that actually fit him! And Daddy was SO proud, let me tell ya!

Tuesday, September 2, 2008. The Kids FINALLY Go Back To School! Due to construction on some of the school buildings, our district delayed the start of school until today! Meggie would NEVER admit it, but she was getting sort of tired of sitting around the house alone during the day - while school is actually WORK, at least it's a diversion! Here is the Teenager, heading to 10th grade (in the dark). But at least she cooperated, smiled, and DIDN'T complain this year! Yes, folks, I'm sensing progress here.

Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Our Evening of Celebration.Followed By a Day of Shame. Last night, to celebrate our joint anniversaries (Mommy and Daddy's wedding anniversary, Carson's Gotcha Day anniversary) we went to dinner at our favorite Chinese buffet. Meggie isn't fond of Chinese food but likes this buffet because they have things like pizza, macaroni and cheese, and French fries - her Americanized taste buds just can't get used to foreign cuisine! Saturday, August 30, 2008. Playdate At The Children's Museum. Tuesday, my friend Sarah and I got the boys together for a playdate at the Children's Museum. (Many thanks to Grandma and Grandpa B. for the season passes - we are getting tons of use out of 'em! I'm thinking Sarah needs to take pics of her kids more often. Whenever I told Carson and Selleck that I was going to take a picture, Selleck completely ignored me and Carson put on his cheesy grin. Here are the boys in the car at the Mechanic's Station.

Counting down the minutes and hours now until my flight leaves Beijing Thursday afternoon.its hard to believe that just 6 months ago I was sitting in the passenger window of my first Beijing taxi watching the apartments of Wangjing fly by in an orange haze of winter smog on my way to the hutong hotel where I would stay for my first five days in China. The last few days have been a whirl of goodbyes, riding the subway across Beijing and back to my pinfang.
