The Aging Pseudo-Athlete: Still fighting the fight
http://ultrarunandski.blogspot.com/2015/08/still-fighting-fight.html
Trying to stay active and healthy as a retired distance runner. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Still fighting the fight. Last week, I worked as the "fishing instructor" for a local rec department's fishing camp. I got paid a little bit of money, but mostly I did it to help out a friend, who had lost her long-term instructor for the week. Things went just fine, I think I gave the kids some good lessons on ecology and sound environmental fishing practices, and we caught a lot of fish. On Monday, I wanted to t...

Why Everything They Told You About Goals Is Wrong | No Meat Athlete

Plant-Based Diet for Fitness Vegan Recipes and Nutrition Vegan Fitness and Running. Why Everything They Told You About Goals Is Wrong. Written by Matt Frazier. We hear a lot of “achievable goals” talk these days. And that talk, I think, is mostly harmful: it creates and encourages a culture of middling, moderation-loving wafflers afraid to lay it all on the line for something that’s worth it. You’ve heard the quote, I’m sure:. Dream no small dreams, for they have no power to move the hearts of men. Enoug...

You Sleep, I Run: Nothing in Particular
http://stonemountain27.blogspot.com/2009/11/nothing-in-particular.html
You Sleep, I Run. I haven't had time for the Surf the Murph. I'm definitely not ready for reconstructive surgery. When surgery DOES happen I'm most likely going with the allograft (cadaver). Given my age and impatience I think it is the best choice for quick recovery. I just want to run in a relatively straight line. Nothing fancy. EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON: Would have been 49.....
http://krbotdorf.blogspot.com/2008/04/would-have-been-49.html
EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. And someday I just might understand the reasons! Sunday, April 27, 2008. Would have been 49. Well tomorrow would have been my ex's 49th birthday, but his death on Oct 20th kind of negates all that. Its sad really, Michael was a wonderful, kind, caring and giving soul and knowing he has two loser brothers that are still here just kind of makes me wonder - but God has different ideas then I do. Would my staying have meant he did less of them then he was in the end?

EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. And someday I just might understand the reasons! Friday, April 11, 2008. I'm beginning to wonder if I live in Alaska or what. I can't believe they are calling for S N O W this weekend - damn it anyway I am sick and tired of being cooped up inside - i despise the cold and so wish when I moved in 2004 I would have moved to California or Florida where its stinkin' hot. Work(s) in Progress: Make A Wish
http://workinprogress.blogs.com/works_in_progress/2005/05/make_a_wish.html%20
Collection of my ongoing work(s) in progress both personal and professional. May 01, 2005. I think they make you pay to run in races so that you actually show up. Today I woke up with a sore throat and a headache. I would have liked nothing better but to crawl back in bed. Instead I downed an Emer'gen C. Great stuff) and some Alleve and started layering on my running clothes to prepare for the Domino's Pizza Make-A-Wish half marathon. May 1, 2005 12:37:46 PM. Great job on finishing the race! Challenge yourself: August 2009
http://johnmaas.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 16, 2009. I qualified for Boston! Well, maybe not really. Problem is, I did not run my marathon on a "certified" course. And, I wasn't actually running a marathon at the time. I'm just trying to prepare myself for the upcoming Superior Trail Run 50 (52.1 miles Larry - you are a sick man) on September 12. Now, it seems I take that for granted. I don't. I am thankful for the talents and skills God has given me. At 8:14 - I needed to bring it down to 8:00. Kept pushing a little faster eve...
