What a huge surprise that would be.good to know, I think I’ll make a special effort to be showered and dressed by then, cause that might be more of a surprise for the ****** 98.5 team than they are bargaining for. Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Once upon a time, not so long ago a title like "Our New Ride " would have been about a new vehicle. Oh, how things have changed. Then Roxanne came to my rescue. She was done with her stroller and it was mine to use, yippee! Problem solved. I didn't try the stroller out until after Sloan was born. Big Mistake! This stroller befuddled me to say the least! Sunday, December 26, 2010. Christmas Eve was in the books, onto the excitement of Christmas morning. After our guests had left, I double checked that "The Stockings Were Hung by the Chimney (aka gas fireplace) with Care", made sure our milk and cookies were out for Santa, and it was off to bed. Monday, April 25, 2011. Later in life, I tried several times to plan my own surprise birthday party. How much fun is that! Your friends and family all gathered to eat, drink and be merry. However, it is not easy to plan your own surprise party - believe me, I know, I have tried. The other thing I love about birthdays and birthday parties? I said yup. She said "And when is the party? I replied "The end of April" - and that seemed to be a conversation killer. But did get in the groove after a taste test.

Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Jake turned 10 this year. wow! Every year I think, how am I possibly old enough to have a kid that age, and this year I am saying it again. 10 seems really old. Now his age is double digits for the next 90 years. And just look at him in this picture, he looks big. There is no more little boy there. It's a great age, and yet it's kind of an awkward age. Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Finally we snuck off to Calaway park for a few hours. Thanks to Denise forcing me out of the house. This summer has been so hard. We have been so busy, and the weather has been so crappy, it's been easy to put off doing the fun things, and just keep on keeping on waiting for the sun to shine. Here is a pic of Justice on the Merry go Round. That kid smiles pretty much all the time :). And here is Drew on her horse. Drew is a thrill seeker! And a whole lot braver than I am.

It came at the perfect time for all of us. I think this video speaks to anyone and everyone. It is so powerful. Jake has memorized pieces of it, and says it to himself during tough games. Saturday, March 19, 2011. In my opinion (and the majority of parents watching), the ref didn't like the elbow Jake (# 12) gave here,. Or the hit that became a roughing penalty. So he thought he would also give him a tripping penalty and a high stick penalty. The last two were just plain old bad calls, but when you have a target on your back, and the reffing officails are there grading the refs, sometimes it happens. With 20 seconds left in the 3rd period! How Cool. Was. That? Then I tried to stop crying.
