My little secret touch is the freshly grated Parmesan on top. Pasta sauce from a jar is 10x better with fresh Parmesan and it almost makes me forget that the sauce isn't homemade.almost. This makes an especially great weeknight meal because since it is served cold it can all be prepped in advance. This is what I put in mine:. Ground turkey cooked with taco seasoning. My kids are fairly picky eaters. Our rule is simply choose something from the table to eat and eat what you put on your plate. This is what Clara's taco salad looked like:. Apple cider pork chops.

It should make an impression on both the eyes and the mouth, and be easy to make, because who has time to spend hours making one dish when there are so many good things to make and eat? This year, that recipe for me was Cranberry Lime Salsa Dip. I got the original recipe from my friend Julie's blog. 4 scallions, minced.

I find them at yard sales all the time. And I collect advice on the subject. I'm on an eternal quest to figure out how to NOT screw my kids up. (I need all the help I can get.). And I recently found a gem. One of those "aha" moments when you realize you've been doing it wrong all these years. You did a great job of helping!

Up, out, about, within, and around. Friday, June 10, 2011. We found a u-pick cherry orchard just outside our town, and conveniently on the way to Fresno. The baby in my belly said she needed some. We picked 22 pounds. A few days later they were gone already, and I think I just barely satisfied that craving. I thought I preferred dark red cherries but these were soooo SWEET and they don't stain, which is pretty important. I kept finding cherry pits all over the house for days. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sunday, April 24, 2011. So Katie and Ryan had their first piano recital. It was awesome. They were so nervous. Katie played Old McDonald and Ryan played Follow the Prophet. They got to see what you can accomplish when you stick to it. They haven't been playing very long but the progress that they have made is good. Up, out, about, within, and around. Saturday, June 05, 2010. A family of explorers. It takes us 20 minutes to walk the three blocks to Rivka's school. Little kids really know how to stop and smell the roses. There are a few major landmarks in our neighborhood that always draw special attention-. A lion's head garden sculpture. Bush shaped like a seal. Flag with ladybugs on it. And then there are treasures that cross our path and must be inspected closely-. And the most coveted item- pecan shells.

Up, out, about, within, and around. Tuesday, August 09, 2011. The baby comes, and life goes on. The three amigos are all great swimmers as of this summer. It makes pooltime so much more enjoyable when I don't have four kids constantly on the verge of drowning. The girls were swimming last summer too but had to relearn it all again. Daddy is even more fun to swim with than me because he gives rides on his back. And there goes Zion! Hosanna was getting tired- hence the lifejacket). Have to wake up at 6am.
