Keep smiling while you're miling: Ode to a Shirt
http://keepsmilingwhileyouremiling.blogspot.com/2010/06/ode-to-shirt.html
Keep smiling while you're miling. Long distance runner what you standing there for? Sunday, June 20, 2010. Ode to a Shirt. It wasn't until the summer of 2005 that I started wearing a shirt to go running in warm weather. Before then, once the weather warmed to the point I didn't need to wear a long sleeve shirt I was running bare chested. That was so long ago, I don't remember why I decided to start wearing a shirt. Sun burn/cancer worries? Protection against branches and vines? June 20, 2010 at 10:07 PM.

Keep moving forward...: Hawks 100
http://ab-running.blogspot.com/2011/09/hawks-100.html
Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Sept 10th was the inaugural Hawks 100 mile trail race in Lawrence, KS. Clinton Lake north shore to be exact. This race was not open to anyone. Qualification was a successful completion of 100 miler in last couple of years. And to make matters worse, the race was basically unsupported in terms of aid stations.other than what you can stash at 3 spots on the course. This was "old school" racing. But I got impatient, and got back on the course for my 3rd lap. It was less than...

Dan Olmstead: Western States 2011
http://danolmstead.blogspot.com/2011/07/western-states-2011.html
Thursday, July 7, 2011. My first Western States in 2009 really shook me up. It made me question my ability at the 100 mile distance and even my relationship with ultra-running in general. I’m not going to take anything for granted, but 2011 Western States was an amazing journey and has slayed just about all of those past demons. However this race didn’t feel like some sort of “triumph over adversity” but was more an expression of my enjoyment of running. My goals going into the race were:. Enjoy the expe...
