Just Another Race to Win. Monday, February 22, 2010. The last week has been a bit hectic. Alex went in last Tuesday (Feb 16th) for blood counts. Although he had been feeling pretty good for about 10 days, Alex awoke with nausea and dry heaves! We were back in the hospital on Saturday for 7 hours while he received yet another chemo drug. Just Another Race to Win. Thursday, April 8, 2010. We are finally done with Intensive Chemo! It's been a long and intense six months. We have been to the hospital 10 out of the last 12 days! The main thing now is to get Alex over the nausea. He is so sensitive to the medication and the whole psychological thing (anticipatory nausea) makes it difficult to treat. Most people do not have any nausea in maintenance so we hope that is the case for Alex. But he would prefer some muscle tone. Posted by Lily and.
