Dr Dorothy Timpany Mission Circle. The Sociables Meet in the Park. Sociables is the result of a congregational survey conducted by Rev. Das Sydney. The survey indicated the need for social programming for retirees. The first gathering of the Sociables took place on 3 February 1987 and was hosted at the church by Lesley Hobgood; 21 people attended. Following the first gathering, Gordon and Marjorie Crawford, Doris and John Walker and Earl and Gloria Campbell hosted Sociables get togethers.

That was an interesting flurry of activity for a summer weekend! At first I thought a party! Must be the young folks having a sleep over. Then the fancy stuff came out! Some new folks came in along with people whose voices I knew. Then a whole lot of my folks came flooding in. There was lots of talk and laughter; everyone seemed to have a good time. July 14, 2016.

According to our church’s records, an organisational meeting for a new mission circle was held in the home of Joan McTavish on 8 February 1960. The Dr. Dorothy Timpany Mission Circle, which is a ‘daugther circle’ of the Evertrue Mission Circle, has been meeting ever since.
