Rockin' it Out: October 2013
http://justinandmarisa.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Til rockin' it out goes wrong). Thursday, October 31, 2013. I won't go into all of the details of the emotional rollercoaster leading up to the event, but I will say that it came down to the Thursday before the event on Saturday to reserve sound/light equipment. After going through several different contacts I finally struck gold with a colleague's spouse who had connections with event management. We were able to rent the equipment for next-to-nothing and the quality was excellent. The evening was a succ...

Til rockin' it out goes wrong). Saturday, November 2, 2013. Home and Away Football Tournament 2013. The best part about the event was the community that was built within our team since our school is very segregated into different parts of the school. This was one opportunity for us to share an experience and get to know each other outside of school. DBS Staff team sporting the shirts I whipped up in less than a week - went with the military "M*A*S*H theme. DBS Staff bringing home the hardware!

Til rockin' it out goes wrong). Thursday, March 6, 2014. Last December we traveled down to Australia for the first time to spend our Christmas break. Since then we decided that when we wrote travel blogs we didn't want to include simply a summary of the trip itinerary. Rather, we wanted to try to write about our impressions and reflections on the trip which might be more interesting to read. Thus, I'm going to give it a shot starting with this post. 2 Wilson's Promontory (Squeaky Beach). We stayed in St&...
Rockin' it Out: Hong Kong Home Brew Competition 2014
http://justinandmarisa.blogspot.com/2014/02/hong-kong-home-brew-competition-2014.html
Til rockin' it out goes wrong). Sunday, February 23, 2014. Hong Kong Home Brew Competition 2014. Since my last home brew related post. Things have been moving steady. In December/January we brewed three different batches: a porter with cacao nibs, a double IPA, and a rye pale ale. While spending Christmas in Australia, I did some shopping at a brewing shop called Grain and Grape. 1 Darkside Porter (5.1% ABV). So Hong Kong is basically split between the "Island" side and the "Kowloon" side. Unofficial...

Our life with a little lady and a little fella. Thursday, March 27, 2014. I have been wanting to get MB's hair cut for a while now. Up until this point, she has had three small trims as were were trying to get her hair to grow. Fixing hair is not one of my strong suits and I have a hard time doing anything with her hair so a shorter "do: seemed to be a good option. It turned out super cute and I love it! She likes it most of the time but sometimes she will tell me she wants long hair again. Our cul-de-sa...

Our life with a little lady and a little fella. Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Ben is the best kind of handful. He is sweet, funny, super busy, determined, friendly and we just adore him. Here are a few things I want to remember for where he is in life right now. He gets offended really easy. If you cut up food in front of him, he will fall apart and then refuse to eat it. If there is something that I want to cut into smaller bites, I have to hide it from him or otherwise he will melt down. I feel like I need...

WHERE I GO, WHAT I DO, WHO I AM. Sunday, June 26, 2011. Let's take a look at how we got to this moment in time. Craig and I met playing kickball. It's a funny story and I love to tell people that the first time we met I was yelling and screaming at him for making a game losing call when reffing our kickball game. I always say, he saw me at my worst, so it can only get better from there. He came to watch one of my games when we first started dating and met my Mom. They seemed to hit it off instantly.

Check out my life as i take it one step at a time - front foot leads the back one. Into the Sunset -. Those moments were surprisingly trumped by a weekend I will forever remember.pleasantly of course. Jacob, Ryan, Drew, Luke, Elliot, Lena, and I were well hosted by the Halford family of Memphis, Tennessee. The last afternoon of our Labor Day trip, we decided to go on a horse ride through the cotton fields along a spur of the Mississippi River. Ready for a ride? My friends and I reside in a different time...

Our life with a little lady and a little fella. Wednesday, November 26, 2014. When MB was about half way through her fried pie, she looked up and said "this is the best day ever! WHERE I GO, WHAT I DO, WHO I AM. Saturday, November 20, 2010. The Joys and Sorrows of Dieting. I embarked on a weight loss mission to get into that dress and feel comfortable in it was well. My plan was as follows. 1) work out or run every day. 2) no carbs for lunch or dinner. 3) only grilled or steamed vegetables and meat. 4) limited alcohol (I tried to cut it out completely but that was just way too hard). Overall, here are the lessons learned from this experience:. November 22, 2010 at 12:36 PM. Simpl...

WHERE I GO, WHAT I DO, WHO I AM. Tuesday, January 26, 2010. I'm sure like many of you, over the holidays I kind of over did it in the food department: candy, snacks, junk food, booze, second helpings, third helpings, late night helpings, you get the idea. To compound the fact that I was eating like Nadia Suleman pregnant with 8 children, I had been avoiding working out as well. Salmon with Orange, Hoisin, and Vegetables. Pork-chops stuffed with goat cheese, sundried tomatoes and spinach. The pan sauce fo...

Justin and Marcy | Just another WordPress site
Overcast days should be for sleeping in. Well, I’ve done it.  I’ve finally gotten the website updated, using  the theme created for Marcy by Matt Schnauber integrated into WordPress.  It wasn’t the most painless experience, but it did give me valuable insight into how WordPress works.  I have more plans for the site, but will go slowly.
