Justin Von Strasburg designs websites, creates sound, and occasionally goes boom.
My name is Justin Von Strasburg and I was born on November 30, 1977 in Victoria, TX but currently I live in Buffalo, NY. During the day I design websites at Rare Earth Interactive. At night you might find me creating sounds. Going to shows, drinking lots of tea, or looking for a good place to eat. I prefer Asian food but if you put a burger in front of my face, I will not say no. You can find me on Twitter. Or send me an email. I will respond as soon as I can. I also write about things.

Avoiding Unnecessary byte[] Allocations in HttpContent. Over the past year and a half I’ve been actively contributing to .NET Core. Mostly chipping away at low-hanging performance optimizations and other minor improvements. I thought it’d be interesting to highlight some of that work. Today I’ll be going over an improvement I made to. Allocations when detecting the content’s encoding. I was ranting about GetPreamble and byte[]s in the web stack just last week!
