To day the news papers report that ICICI Bank in Mumbai came forward to pay an amount of Rs. 15.50 lacs (around US $ 40,000) to a family as compensation! The breadwinner of the family who borrowed an amount of Rs.50,000/- could not repay the debt properly, committed suicide because of the harassment of the recovery agents of the bank! They have also terminated the services of the recovery agent. A couple of their men were arrested by the police.
