Here at Kaitao we are in the midst of getting our new hall. The exterior is basically done, and now they're working on the interior. The hall is almost completed. By Term 2 the hall should be finished. They are still thinking of something to open our new hall with. It was going to be one of Mr. O'Rourke's famous productions. Yesterday Kaitao gathered on the Astro turf at 12.15 to have a practice powhiri for the opening of the school hall this Friday. As in a normal powhiri the girls sat in the fount and the boys sat at the back. Whaea Te Arohanui was the teacher in charge she made the boys stay behind because they where not doing there best. Kaitao Middle School: Rotorua Marathon

The Rotorua marathon was an event that started on Saturday 2 May. Kaitao had two water stations the first and the second 20 students helped with the water stations (ruffly 10 students for each water station). One station was positioned on Fairy Spring Road and the other one was positioned out at Ngongotaha. When the runners/walkers came through you held the cup of water on the palm of your hand and they would come and basically rip the cup out of your hand but they said thank you so that was nice.

Kaitao wins Nationwide Fair Trade Poster Competition. Today a Kaitao student from Room 17, Expressive Academy won first place for the Fair Trade poster competition. The winner was Nicole Watson and her poster was selected from seven finalists from all over New Zealand. The school won a check for $3,000! Nicole will now have her poster in the Wild Bean Cafe. Kaitao Middle School: Speech Competition Term 2

Speech Competition Term 2. This term (term 2) here at Kaitao, we are having the speech competitions! Students are able to pick any topic for their speech. If I remember correctly, the speeches have to be approximately 3 minutes long. There will be a Year 7 Speech Competition and a Year 8 Speech Competition. Wednesday, November 4, 2009. On Tuesday 3rd November we all went to Waimarino for the day. The bus got here at 8am and we left to go to Waimarino. We left at around 2pm and got to school at 4.30pm. At the marae we could play what ever we wonted to play like hand ball. cricket and Dodge ball and in hand ball I got some people out and I could only get to queen but I only got to king a couple of times and it was harder and harder to get king out. 9830;♥Celene Room One♥♦. Well its the last day of Kaitao this is my last post I'm so happy to be leaving. Term 4 Camp♥. Once we arrived at the lodge the owner talked to us and then we went for a walk around the lodge. Its really big and has lots of dorms. There is also lots of space to run around, and a big hall where you can rock climb. The year 8's arrived at about 3ish and we all met up for a talk with Mrs. Vaughan. The year 7's arrived and it started to rain so everyone had to go to their dorms.

Sports: I play in the girls soccer team for Kaitao and i used to play for Ngongotaha in 5th and 6th grade and i was put up to 8th grade then i stopped playing for Ngongotaha and i just play for Kaitao now.
