Kristin's Blog: December 2008

http://kapesblog.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Pretty much just for recreational blogging. Monday, December 1, 2008. 2 The text I responded to the most positively was The Bluest Eye. By Toni Morrison. I really liked the novel because the story was interesting and it was fun to read. I was interested in this novel the most because it was my favorite type of literature, a novel. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My Thoughts On Literary Interpretation. The end is in sight. Gaiman: Madman or really smart guy? For Monday Nov. 17. Working Thesis-Close Reading #1.

Kristin's Blog: ehhhh...

http://kapesblog.blogspot.com/2008/11/ehhhh.html

Pretty much just for recreational blogging. Wednesday, November 19, 2008. I don't like it. The pictures, the text, everything seems to be making fun of Shakespeare's creation. I think William Shakespeare wrote beautiful plays that we're meant to be challenging to understand and funny to the audience. When Gaiman's text says. Now, fait Hippolyta our nuptial hour draws on apace; FOUR happy days bring in another moon: but OHH, methinks how SLOW the old moon wanes! November 20, 2008 at 12:08 PM.

Pretty much just for recreational blogging. Wednesday, October 15, 2008. For some reason after thinking of this story Craigs imagination went wild. On page 223 there was a picture of the stuffed animals in the room, all of them have really big eyes that look crazy and each one is asking "Who touched me? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Katie Syzdek: Blankets

http://literaryinterpretationkadar.blogspot.com/2008/10/blankets.html

Wednesday, October 15, 2008. I choose these four pages for a multitude of reasons, I found them to be interesting parts of Craiogs story but more significantly they aid in understanding the young man Craig evolves into. These excerpts illustrate why Craig is reluctant to engage in intimacy with Raina, why he feels ashamed for harboring such thoughts, and where his internal struggle originated from. Emily's English Blog: October 2008

http://emilymcgibson.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Monday, October 20, 2008. Also, on page 540 we see the picture that Craig drew on Raina's wall being painted over. It's like he is erasing her image or memory because he has finally gotten over her. I think all of the texts we have read so far discuss feeling lost or being afraid of being an outcast. In American Born Chinese. Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Slightly in the first image, more blurred in the second, and then the third image has no recognizable features of his face ...

Carissas Interpretations: October 2008

Joe's Blog: Thoughts on The Bluest Eye

http://joeslitblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/thoughts-on-bluest-eye.html

Monday, September 29, 2008. Thoughts on The Bluest Eye. I'll admit it: I have not gotten far at all in this book. I don't even have it with me. However, I do recall the very curious introduction " See the house. The house is green.". While I'm not positive, I think that is the text of one of the earliest children's books. Of course, in that time, the subject of almost any kind of "mainstream" literature was white. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My Thoughts On Literary Interpretation.

Natacha's Blog!: Persepolis I

http://natsblog123.blogspot.com/2008/10/persepolis-i.html

Wednesday, October 29, 2008. How does conflict forge identity? In Persepolis, I feel like these people are happy to serve and die for their rights in the revolution. For example, on the first panel on page 31. we see the people carrying the body of a dead man killed by the army in the midst of the revolution. The man was carried by a crowd of people, whom were proclaiming him a martyr. These men were born to drill and die. The unexplained glory flies above them. Also,[comparing Persepolis and "War Is Kin...

Joe's Blog: Dream Country

http://joeslitblog.blogspot.com/2008/11/dream-country.html

Wednesday, November 19, 2008. I haven't read any graphic novels outside this class, so I'm unsure if many others have taken Shakespeare on, and how they compare to the original.  Anyway, from what I've seen/read so far in Dream Country. Gaiman is sort of faithful to A Midsummer Night's Dream. Are actually acted out as a play by the characters.  This is about as far as I've gotten so far, but I find this very peculiar. Katie Syzdek: The sandman

http://literaryinterpretationkadar.blogspot.com/2008/11/sandman.html

Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Gaiman' text compares to Shakespeare's text in a variety of ways but I think the most substantial correlation that can be made is the plot runs almost parallel to A Midsummer Night's Dream. The Skeptic: PERSEPOLIS

http://willieelmonosblog.blogspot.com/2008/10/persepolis.html

Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Why do we enjoy focusing on others peoples strife? Why focus so much on the problem, or worse yet the symptoms? OK, I know this isn't what was asked for but c'est le vie. Or death. There are much larger issues here. Does conflict shape who we are or do we shape conflict? In other words, we shape ourselves regardless of whats going on. GOOOOD question. I don't know what my answer would be! I guess a little bit of both. very good point! October 29, 2008 at 5:50 AM. In this clas...
