A Meditation for Tranquility. Affirmation: I am calm, poised, and centered in the Christ mind. Nothing can disturb the calm peace of my soul. I find myself refreshed and renewed from my restful contemplation. As I move through the day, I continue to feel the calm I experience during prayer, and I express it to those aroun...

"Where is Death's Sting" - lyrics - the lone extravert
http://gramina.livejournal.com/349067.html
Where is Death's Sting" - lyrics. On 2013.09.10 at 14:29. Where is deaths sting. I'd been looking for these and finally found them, so I'm putting them here :). Maybe someone else will also be pleased to have them. Where is death’s sting? We were not born to die,. Nor only for the life beyond the grave;. All that is beautiful in earth and sky -. All skill, all knowledge, all the powers we have -. Are of thy giving, and in them we see. No dust nor ashes, but a part of thee. At 2013-09-11 14:38 (UTC).

A Polyptych - the lone extravert
http://gramina.livejournal.com/347187.html
On 2012.08.30 at 13:39. Spinning on the grass,. One foot lifted, hands stretched out,. A girlchild dances -. The sun pooling like water. In her hands, then scattered out. On a desert rock,. Water pools; a woman's hands. Overflow with it;. Elbows bent, arms close, wrapped in. Tangles of thread, twine, cord, rope. Hands outflung, she sprawls -. Great axe severing all bonds:. Rope, twine, and breast-bone. Still, water falls with the blood. And sunlight pooled in her hands. Breath. A breath. A breath. A woma...

Scarf - Among the Sharply Pointed Stars
http://bruorton.livejournal.com/54801.html
Among the Sharply Pointed Stars. April 7th, 2013. What color was it, that scarf you made for me. When we were courting? Green, I know,. But which shade, exactly? Unwrapping it well enough, and my cat. Happily chewing on the hemp twine it came. Bound in. And all our love letters, our long. Phone calls, our five-month engagement. What did we think we were doing? Scared at moments, I know, but also. In love, and we couldn’t wait, and were pretty sure. We knew a good thing when we’d found it. Two at a time?

Little Fires - Among the Sharply Pointed Stars
http://bruorton.livejournal.com/55351.html
Among the Sharply Pointed Stars. November 12th, 2013. I have not slept well. Awake at 4,. I’m too cold to go back to sleep,. And too easily wakened completely. To get up and find my flannel pajamas. And then go back to sleep. Catch-22. I finally give in at 5 and get up, begrudging everything:. Cold, the coming day, wakefulness, the world. In the stove I lay logs on last night’s coals,. Not bothering with tinder; a trickle of smoke. And I desert it to catch flame on its own. Ticks into a dully glowing heat.

Among the Sharply Pointed Stars. Entries by tag: poetry. March 19th, 13:01. Do you remember the the other night. Walking home in the dark. Because wed thought the moon would be up. So we didnt bring a flashlight. Of fresh snow under our boots. But still warmed by the glow of neighbors. Chatting around the table of wine and munchies. Discussing the weather, kids, housing travails,. And despite the inevitable dark turn to politics. The lyrics still in our ears. If theres hope in this house Im gonna find it.
