A two day old orphaned lamb, sleeping, it’s mouth moving, suckling as if on its mother’s teat. The involuntary action of its body rising up and down as it breathes. Its eyes flitting, its dreams rolling. Peacefully unaware of its search for something that no longer exists. Single channel video and sound recording of two day old baby feeding. This project was derived from a memory of a comment made by the Artist’s father.

Kate Elliott is a London-based photographer and visual artist. Kate graduated from London College of Communication (UAL) in 2009 with an MA in Photography. Her work has been exhibited and published internationally, including at The National Portrait Gallery and The Photographers’ Gallery, London, and The Museum of Moscow as part of the 2014 International Biennale for Young Art. The Study of Peter Pan (2014). The Study of Peter Pan. 2014) is a time-based video portrait in which the subject was asked to sit facing the camera for a set period of time. It was shot within the familiar and personalised context of his bedroom. With no formal styling, lighting or direction it focuses on his natural movements and mannerisms, and the changes in his facial expressions. The Study of Peter Pan.
