Enough Crimefighting, I'm Going Vigilante - Chalain

Enough Crimefighting, I'm Going Vigilante - Chalain. Sep 16th, 2010 04:38 pm Enough Crimefighting, I'm Going Vigilante. I have had a fantastic time at Public Engines working on CrimeReports. When I started, they had a small dev team laboring under thousands of lines of legacy code. They used Subversion. They coded in whatever technology the previous teams had left behind: PHP, Python, C#.NET, even a tiny image processor written in C. Last Tuesday, we shipped and are now in public beta. This move guts the...

May 08, 2013. Flying: Spaceport America is un-charted. Current sectional chart introduces interesting changes: the spaceport is erased! The runway was properly documented with altitude of 4595 and length of 10,000. But now the private airport status is gone, and instead we get a landmark. And a free-standing AWOS at 118.675. UPDATE 2013/09/09: At the DC-X 20th Anniversary symposum, Christine Anderson made the following comments, according to The Space Review. Posted by: Pete Zaitcev. February 04, 2013.

February 22, 2016. 2010 Jeep Wrangler long term. It has been more than 5 years since the day. When I was driving by a dealership and thought: "today is a good day to buy a Jeep". It was the best car that I owned, by far. Initially I was apprehensive about reliability. And I even had a transmission leak. But the leak was fixed under warranty and the jeep was trouble-free since then. It's at 85k miles now. BTW, it gets about 19 mpg in daily driving. Pictured: Jeep at the Imogene pass, Colorado. Silly Ramblings of LynLyn of the Shire. Or Confessions of a Poncy Elf Fancier. 01:29 pm October 1st, 2009. So, I have in my possession, a glorious MagicBullet. I've had said device in my home since moving here in February, but didn't really think about it.or realize the full potential of the ownership. But now that I've turned a new odd leaf, healthwise (good odd though, I promise) - I'm taking notice of the device. I'm a little overwhelmed at the moment. Or Leave a comment. Writer's Block: I'm just a bill, yeah I'm only a bill - Jay Maynard

Writer's Block: I'm just a bill, yeah I'm only a bill - Jay Maynard. Monday, 20 September 2010. 0827 - Writer's Block: I'm just a bill, yeah I'm only a bill. I'm just a bill, yeah I'm only a bill. If you could change or create a new law, what would it be, and why? I can't claim credit for this one. It comes from H. Beam Piper's novella. I'd make it legal to kill practicing politicians if a jury of one's peers agrees that it was deserved. No, don't run away screaming or giggling. Another possible problem ...

The Left isn't always wrong - Jay Maynard

The Left isn't always wrong - Jay Maynard. Sunday, 26 December 2010. 1414 - The Left isn't always wrong. I read the Power Line blog regularly. They generally have their head screwed on straight, unlike the Left. They do occasionally get it wrong, though, as in their posting on the FCC's push to adopt net neutrality regulations. They don't allow comments on their site, but they do occasionally read and respond to email. I sent them this reply, in the hope that they'd do that, but so far, nothing. This is ...

Took him long enough... - Jay Maynard
http://jmaynard.livejournal.com/394525.html
Took him long enough. - Jay Maynard. Wednesday, 27 April 2011. 0919 - Took him long enough. So, President Obama finally released his birth certificate. Now we can put the matter to rest. Personally, I've always thought that whether he was born in Hawaii or not - and I had no real opinion on the subject - it would never be allowed to interfere with his holding the office. Too much chaos would result if he were proven to be ineligible. Worse, the Vice Plagiarist would then be the Plagiarist-in-Chief. I ini...

Broken brains and me - Jerith online. Broken brains and me. Nov 15th, 2008 10:31 am. Some of you good people may have noticed that I haven't been quite myself these last two weeks. This post serves as an explanation. Some of what follows is pretty personal. If I wasn't OK with it being public it wouldn't be here, but if you're uncomfortable with that kind of thing (or perhaps just don't know me well enough to care) you may want to skip this post. I have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder.

Critical Chain Analysis and Morning Routines - Chalain. Jan 29th, 2011 03:45 pm Critical Chain Analysis and Morning Routines. And I are a well-matched pair. She is organized, I am messy. She is responsible, I am creative. She is efficient, I am. well, I'd say I have more fun. But there is one area in which I am astonishingly more efficient than her: morning routines. Dry off and don underwear, proceed to kitchen and drop a package of Top Ramen into the now-boiling water. 1 minute. I habitually drove 7mph...
