Monday, 22 February 2010. Tampoe D/A Primary School - our partner school. There are three main classroom blocks – Kindergarten, Lower School and Upper School – the headteacher’s office/staff room, a small canteen and a large yard for the children to play in. Two classrooms are new, and have been built with help from ActionAid. Mr Laarimso asked me to share breakfast with him and I was delighted to do so! Mr Laarimso said it was cocoa but that it should not be drunk at night as it will keep you awake.

Friday, 29 January 2010. During my tour of the house – which is a bungalow – Aaron was keen to tell me that we have just been connected to running water! So we no longer need to collect our water from the borehole. This was exciting news! There is also a fridge and some shelves for food storage. On one side of the room is a worktop with the water filters on it. Water for drinking must be filtered to avoid us catching any bugs so these are filled regularly. Sunday, 29 November 2009. Time is fast passing by and preparations are well under way for my trip. Tomorrow I have my first appointment for immunisations, and will be putting together a programme involving three rabies jabs, meningococcal meningitis, hep B, yellow fever, cholera and a regime for anti-malarials.
