CDA constructed a permanent weir and trained the farmers on irrigation technology and diversify through introduction of high value crops under irrigation. Farmers now enjoy the service of the newly constructed permanent weir which prompted the expansion of the scheme from the 1000 acreas to 2,000 acreas. This initiative got a finiacial boost through the Economic Stimulus Programme.

The farm has also constructed 8 fish ponds as an alternative source of livelihood for Chakama residents.
