Monday, October 12, 2009. Girl Scouts on a hike at Leader/Daughter Weekend. 2009. It was decided that we wanted to check out a trail at camp Pamunkey. Funny I think I. Was the only one who did not notice the "Experienced hikers only" sign. We thought if the troop in front of us could do it so could we! We took our group picture at Overlook. It was beautiful. Two leaders stayed behind and two of us took 5 girls down the trail. What a start! I felt like we should have been rappelling! Finally we reach the ...

Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Kyra's Pie- Wordless Wednesday. Tuesday, August 23, 2011. A big surprise to us. Now that we live in the country there are of course LOTS of horse barns and riding lessons around. When we asked the kids what they wanted to do for extracurricular activities Kyra wanted to do horseback riding. Well I contacted a gentleman about lesson and he told me a price. As Michael and I were discussing it we found a Groupon for the first lesson dirt cheap! Still the nerves were there for Kyle.

Saturday, March 3, 2012. Hoe Cake- Just a few minutes to make! Well the kids think the name is funny and what can I say? I didn't name it! However it is the most delicious "cake" you have ever had. It is especially yummy with Apple Butter that your friends make! Here is how to make your own Hoe Cake. There are 3-5 ingredients. Flour, Crisco, and milk. If you don't have self rising flour you will need to add 1 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp of salt per cup of flour. Until it is mixed thoroughly. Jeanni...

Sunday, July 31, 2011. I love Home Schooling. Good days and Bad days I love it. I think it has to do with a some places in town to help with curriculum and supplies. My very favorite place to shop for curriculum! My friend Sarah told me about it and since then I have made several visits! You can see behind the lady in the picture all of the curriculum that is consigned. I love a bargain too! They have classes for free to help you homeschool your children. It is chock a block full of items! Tomorrow my pa...

Simply Stated: September 2011
http://shelly-creativelyspeaking.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 26, 2011. So I have ZERO pictures to post on my story here. I hope you enjoy it anyway. Today Michael asked me to walk with him. Since I was having some foot pain (nothing major) and going to the doctor for it I opted out. Imagine my anxiety level when the phone rings and it is Michael yelling at me "Where are the BB's"? Then ever so stupidly I say "Why"? No reply. Just a "Ask Kyle"! Ok Off to find Kid #1. "Do you know where the BB's are"? It is an emergency". His answer "Really"? I fin...

Thursday, October 20, 2011. Joleen's Homemade Granola Breakfast Bars. So here is the quick story behind the Granola bars. My friend Joleen's husband used to eat Pop-Tarts everyday for breakfast. Over the years, she could no longer stand to see him eat something so unhealthy. He told her that when she could come up with something that was as cheap and tasted as good as Pop-Tarts he would give them up. Well she did! She found this recipe and Viola! Add 1 1/2 cups of oats. Ready for the oven! 1 You must dou...
