A fine WordPress.com site. You haven’t heard from me for a while because uni has started and I am busyyy. First of all I have Korean language class every day for three hours. It feels like primary school really, because we have teachers and learn grammar and vocabulary and we also get homework every day! It is quite a lot of work but also fun🙂. So I very much hope to present some great pictures to you in my next post🙂. About Burgers, Slippers and Photoshop. My dear readers,. When I walked around my dor...

A fine WordPress.com site. It’s been almost a year since I left Korea and therefore last posted something on this blog. Who would have thought I’d be back so soon, I certainly didn’t. Anyways, I am back in Korea and am taking this opportunity to share some of my experiences with you once again. One of my colleagues had a bike left over (and not just any bike! A short update about my job at the embassy: I really like working there. Throughout my internship I will go through the the different departmen...

A fine WordPress.com site. During my first encounter with a Korean on the plane, I got some good advice: “Don’t order food that is of a red colour”. And he was oh-so-right! Koreans conserve their food with chili and they love it! So red food is a no-go for me. The third and easiest option to order food are pictures or displays. Those are not that uncommon actually. In the uni cafeteria there is always one cooked version of each dish on display in a glass cabinet. One unique (at least to me! Korean BBQ is...

A fine WordPress.com site. Hello again from Deajeon! Once again many things have happened since I last wrote. Today I would like to tell you about my weekend trip to Pusan. Pusan is the second largest city of South Korea and is located in the South-East directly by the seaside. With a group of 14 students (mainly Malaysian friends of mine) I went to visit this beautiful city last weekend. 8221; True story! Also it was not THAT uncommon to see foreigners. To be honest I don’t know much about Budhism...

A fine WordPress.com site. I have been in Seoul for over two months now and haven’t posted anything on here for ages! That is due to the fact that I am having a great time here and always out and about. I have seen a lot, done a lot, made some great friends and really like my job. I can’t believe that in under two weeks I will already be on my way back to Germany. For all the details of the trip I am going to let the pictures speak (or you are free to ask me of course):. Entrance to Bamboo Forest. I hope...

Adventures in Kimchi
Interesting experiences in Korean food, combining kimchi into unexpected dishes! Monday, December 5, 2016. Kimchi nachos with snow peas and garlic mayonnaise! Tonight I felt like something fun for dinner! While I was looking for some cheese to melt over the nachos I found this garlic aioli mayonnaise. This seems appropriate because Koreans like egg and garlic! It was certainly fun and healthy, but wasn't spicy enough for me. This is probably because I didn't actually add any spicy flavourings anyway!

Musings of a Traveler. July 1, 2013 by Korean Musings. You’ll never leave where you are until you decide where you rather be. I’m not trying to turn my nose up in disdain to anyone who does not like to travel because it is all a matter of opinion. For me personally, when I see the world, I feel exhilarated, free, and connected. My hunger is not satiated upon returning from one place; on the contrary, I am scoping out the next place to explore. Since I started (and abandoned) this blog years ago, I have moved on to a different part of the world, Europe. Life seems to keep me moving from one foreign place to another. Initially I thought about restarting this blog after the long hiatus (sorry about that! But then I decided I needed a clean slate, a new canvas on which to capture my favorite things.
