Spending a year in Taiwan teaching English and trying to stay out of trouble. Monday, February 16, 2009. Thailand in a week. A couple of weeks ago, Jennifer and I ventured off into Thailand. It was amazing! What they say about Thailand is absolutely true. It is beautiful, it is laid back, it is cheap and yes there are creepy old fat white guys with young Thai girls. With a week to spare w. The following day, we traveled to Bangkok. First, we took a ferry from Ko Tao to Chumphon. From there we too...We sa...

Cavalier Eternal: May 2008
http://cavalier-eternal.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 22, 2008. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux. That is a fact. What I've been trying (and probably failing) to get at with this post is this: I want to be content with growing up because I know I'll still keep my curiosity and sense of play. At the very least I want to be a grown up who won't try to snuff out the kid I find in the people I meet. And especially the children I meet. They deserve their childhood. Links to this post. Cavalier Eternal: July 2009
http://cavalier-eternal.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 17, 2009. A few nights ago I was having trouble sleeping. It was late when I'd gotten home and I'd gone to bed almost immediately. At first I chalked up the voices to my neighbors until one whisper sounded as if it were right in my ear. Jerking awake, I listened for a moment. Bad dreams. I thought. I drifted toward sleep again. I convinced myself. I went back to bed. A beautiful gypsy princess paid a visit to me shortly after the mail arrived. My bookshelves were rearranged to suit her w...

Cavalier Eternal: June 2008
http://cavalier-eternal.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

I've worked at camps and in child care before, but this was miles beyond everything I've done in the past. The questions they...
