What is interesting is that India purchased the gold at the highest price in history. In other words, they do not care what the price of gold is. They simply do not want counterfeit money. This past Wednesday in a New York auction, an anonymous buyer purchased the 32.01 carat D-Flawless Annenberg Diamond for $7.7 million, well surpassing the stone’s estimated sale price of $3 to $5 million. Also sold on Wednesday was a 16.33-carat circular-cut diamond with E color and flawless clarity, purchased by a private Asian dealer for $1.6 million, or $97,000 per carat. This proves, it is always the right time to purchase a diamond!
