Tasting Room Open Noon to 5:00 Daily. What's in a Name? Kiona is the original Yakama Nation Native American name for the Red Mountain area. Translated, it means "Brown Hills.". It's a local/regional name for our area. In fact, there is a small neighborhood called Kiona a few miles away and the local high school is known as "Kiona Benton.". The first syllable of Kiona rhymes with "pie.". Farm and Family for Three Generations. We make those grapes into wine:. Sure they were brave. But also pretty lucky.
