Kitchen in a Fish Bowl. This is a blog about my family, our life, adventures, and food! Wednesday, March 31, 2010. TheFry is snoring. We finally got him to go to bed at 11pm the other day and he was so tired he snored like an old man. Listen closely, especially towards the end. Links to this post. Sunday, March 28, 2010. Kitchen in a Fish Bowl: TheFry’s Art Projects
http://kitcheninafishbowl.blogspot.com/2011/07/thefrys-art-projects.html
Kitchen in a Fish Bowl. This is a blog about my family, our life, adventures, and food! Saturday, July 2, 2011. TheFry’s Art Projects. TheFry takes four classes at his nursery school in addition to their normal program: art, P.E., music, and English. We pay about 60,000 won per month for these for classes in addition to his tuition fees, which altogether isn’t really that much. In this first one they learned about what animals eat, I guess. 160; It looks like a bald, earless sheep. ;. Hi, I'm Lolimahro!

Kitchen in a Fish Bowl. This is a blog about my family, our life, adventures, and food! Monday, July 18, 2011. Fish Bowl Food Genre #1: Curries. Monday night’s dinner…. Ever since I got back in the habit of blogging about food, I’ve realized how much I’ve missed it. So today when I made some off-the-top-of-my-head curries for dinner, I thought it would be a good chance to post some recipes. 160; (In fact the only thing I bought at Emart was the fresh parsley, which I promptly stuck in the freezer).
Kitchen in a Fish Bowl: Bilingual Potty Training
http://kitcheninafishbowl.blogspot.com/2011/04/bilingual-potty-training.html
Kitchen in a Fish Bowl. This is a blog about my family, our life, adventures, and food! Monday, April 25, 2011. Our house has been alive with a new adventure these days: TheFry is finally getting the hanging of “Potty Training! However, the concern we always had about potty training was how it would work in two languages. In the end, he learned both sets of words just fine, but now that he’s mastered potty training, he only uses the Korean words. Why? You are doing a wonderful job, dont fret over the lit...
Kitchen in a Fish Bowl: Summer Drinks and Treats
http://kitcheninafishbowl.blogspot.com/2011/07/summer-drinks-and-treats.html
Kitchen in a Fish Bowl. This is a blog about my family, our life, adventures, and food! Saturday, July 9, 2011. Summer Drinks and Treats. One thing I haven’t even realized I’ve missed while living in Korea is the culture of summer celebrations in the United States. I miss the 4th of July fireworks and the random barbecues that happen where no one really invites anyone, but everyone just shows up, and the food is still delicious. My favorite summer drink to make has always been watermelon lemonade, which...

An ex-pat couple and their baby, plus a dog. Thursday, September 22, 2011. I just hate when Elijah has to have his shots. Poor little man. He's on some kind of schedule (given by the doc) where we go in once a week for one shot (every couple months). September is one of those months. Elijah has had shots for three weeks in a row, the latest one being today. However, we're done now. until December. Elijah has graduated to a jumperoo! We are renting it from a toy company we found online. Gow and I moved to...

An ex-pat couple and their baby, plus a dog. Thursday, October 27, 2011. I can't believe Elijah is almost 6 months old. Next week marks his half-birthday. That old saying, "they grow so fast". oh heck yeah. On one hand, I can't wait for him to be older. I love watching him reach milestones, and am excited to see the boy/man he'll become. However, I love that he's little enough to scoop up and smother. Ok, so here's Elijah's 5-month list:. How do these work again? Elijah has discovered Sookie, and just lo...

An ex-pat couple and their baby, plus a dog. Thursday, July 28, 2011. Is the weather insane the whole world over? Heat waves, typhoons, flooding, wild fires . . . it's a bit mad. The earth is all topsy-turvy. Makes me think more about global warming and the damage we've done. We here in South Korea are trapped inside a heat. Wave torrential downpour cycle. There is massive flooding. Suffice it to say, it hasn't been a very nice summer. I'm wishing we were at the cabin in Maine! Links to this post. But th...

http://kristinmutchler.blogspot.com/2011/09/shes-only-got-one-arm.html
An ex-pat couple and their baby, plus a dog. Monday, September 5, 2011. She's only got one arm. In 2001, I broke my arm right before Kathy and I went on an 8-week European camping/backpacking trip. I was thus exempted from all kinds of unpleasant duties because, "I only have one arm! This weekend, my sister Kathy was in a bicycle accident. She badly broke her arm, and banged her face up as well. Thankfully she was wearing a helmet, or it could have been very very bad indeed. Not like normal train tracks.

An ex-pat couple and their baby, plus a dog. Wednesday, July 20, 2011. The silk, linen, and nylon anniversary. Time really slips by. It does not feel as if four years have passed since Gow and I were married, and six years since we met/got engaged. Yeahwe got engaged within a month of meeting. Very quick, but "when you know, you know. We did wait 2 years before actually getting married though. Beijing - April, 2005. One month later, in Turkey, we decided to get married. Fast forward to July 21, 2007.

An ex-pat couple and their baby, plus a dog. Thursday, September 29, 2011. Gary's parents, Ted and Jean, have come to visit. They have retired to Spain (from England), but made the LONG trip over to Korea just to see their newest grandson. We are enjoying their company, and they certainly are loving Elijah. We're stuck indoors today, with lots of wind and rain, but yesterday was great fun! Hopefully the rest of their week here will be sunny and fun! Lotte Mart down the road. Free samples at Lotte Mart.

An ex-pat couple and their baby, plus a dog. Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Well, Kathy has now left us. And I've gotta say. sisters are special. I wish she would just come live with us. Her time here with us flew by, and all 4 of us miss her dreadfully (Sookie loved her). We didn't do a whole lot, since it was raining - that coupled with the fact of having a tiny (but very cantankerous) baby kind of limits the possibilities. I felt guilty.like I was playing hooky. Kathy was so good with Elijah too! If you're...

An ex-pat couple and their baby, plus a dog. Wednesday, October 12, 2011. I've been lax in posting, mostly because I'm tired. Also lazy. But mostly just so completely exhausted. Elijah is a little nightmare when it comes to sleep! He's 5 months old now, and rousing every hour. I think he has gas, or reflux, because he just starts crying/screaming. Normal babies don't do this, do they? So anyway, I'm so very tired. A very special group. haha. Starting in July, we've had family come every month! Kitchen in...

An ex-pat couple and their baby, plus a dog. Thursday, November 17, 2011. Yes, I'm a slacker. Long time no post. Anyway, my younger brother and his beautiful wife came to visit last weekend! They live in New York, and flew all the way to Korea for the weekend. Yes, you read that right. the weekend. They love us, obviously. A 14 hour flight, just for a quick weekend? I don't know if I could do that! No, I know I couldn't. So thank you for coming, Will and Jeanene. You guys rock. Trip to the coffee shop.

An ex-pat couple and their baby, plus a dog. Monday, October 24, 2011. Yes, upcycle. Not recycle. Upcycle. Cause I'm cool like that and like to use newfangled words. Since we lack a Target/Walmart/Cheapo Store in Korea, I can't easily find basic baby clothes - like onesies (babygros). I mean, you CAN find them, but you have to buy them individually, and they are pricey. Not like the handy packs you can find at Target (Carters brand, I love you). This is the result:. Not bad, for 15 minutes work! Cut off ...
