Kathleen's Vegetarian Kitchen: Roasted Poblano Polenta

http://kitchenkathleen.blogspot.com/2008/08/roasted-poblano-polenta.html

Saturday, August 9, 2008. I wish I had remembered to photograph this dish right after I finished cooking it. This polenta was very creamy the first day and would have made a mouth-watering photo. But after the leftovers were put in the refrigerator, the polenta changed in consistency to become firmer, as shown in the photo. The leftovers may not have been quite as photogenic, but they were still delicious! 1 cup of quick-cooking polenta. 1 poblano pepper, roasted, then seeded and cut into strips. Salsa X...

Monday, November 3, 2008. What is this gadget? Pastries). Then I realized it is a press for making the distinctive designs on. A very common pastry made in Mexico. What a splendid surprise! DH had been talking to the Chef about Mexican pastries, and it turns out that the Chef worked in a bakery in Mexico for a while. So, the Chef gave the students the option of using some of the batch of brioche dough they had made to form some conchas. They were quite a hit with the class! April 29, 2009 at 7:36 PM.

Friday, October 31, 2008. Mexican Food in Charlotte, NC. We are in Charlotte, North Carolina for the weekend to take more culinary classes at Johnson and Wales. For an early dinner today, we were extremely delighted that we stumbled upon Taqueria. Guadalajara. We had never heard of it, but just had a gut feeling passing it that we needed to stop. We are glad we did! Salsa (green), the salsa made from chiles. Dark red), the pico. Look, tacos with no cheese! Most tacos in Mexico don't have cheese. I wa...

http://kitchenkathleen.blogspot.com/2008/02/pumpkin-cranberry-muffins.html

Saturday, February 9, 2008. I roasted some pumpkin and squash the other day to use in another dish. And had some left over. So, I looked through my cookbooks for a recipe to make use my leftovers, and I chose this recipe for Pumpkin Cranberry Muffins. They are deliciously moist, fluffy and full of flavor! Spiced Pumpkin Cranberry Muffins (Vegan). More Great Good Dairy-Free Desserts Naturally. Kathleen's Vegetarian Kitchen: Spanish Fideos

http://kitchenkathleen.blogspot.com/2008/08/spanish-fideos.html

Friday, August 29, 2008. Yet again I am drawing on my memories of my visit to Barcelona. We ate. There that were similar to the way I made them at home this week. I hadn't made them in a long time, so I can't remember exactly how they were in Barcelona. But I think I did remember some of the key ingredients for making this vegetarian fideo. Dish So I must confess that this recipe is in no way authentic. But it certainly turned out delicious! The ingredient that makes these fideos. 2 teaspoons of pimenton.

J-fer's Home Cure: October 2007

http://j-fer-rose.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 28, 2007. I've really been trying to get a lot accomplished in these last weeks of the Cure. Here's the progress on my living room:. The orange chair and loveseat were Craigslist finds. They need a little bit of wood refinishing work. I have new orange pillows from etsy.com. Other major progress this weekend! Because I've gotten rid of most of the crap I keep in my hallway! The hallway is cleared out! Picture taken prior to prepping for painting. I really want to do a little bit more on t...

J-fer's Home Cure: Choose your own adventure

http://j-fer-rose.blogspot.com/2008/05/choose-your-own-adventure.html

Thursday, May 22, 2008. Choose your own adventure. I took some photos of two different options for towels/bathmats. (I haven't had a chance to touch up the paint, so forgive the obvious smudge about the TP.). The towels I originally purchased (I can't remove them from their packaging until I decide to keep them). If I do keep this set of towels, the trash can doesn't have to stay:. Both approaches work well. Go with what make you happiest! May 23, 2008 at 9:59 PM. May 24, 2008 at 7:58 AM. Yes I like the ...

Sunday, September 30, 2007. A (poorly panorama-ed) photo of my progress in decluttering my entry closet. I'll be doing some additional work to figure out how to most efficiently store my winter scarves and purses. Links to this post. Week 3 Done List. Vacuumed, dusted, and mopped. Cleaned my entrance (although there still is more to do here). Started thinking about how to accomplish my needed repairs (and made one of them, too! J-fer's Home Cure: July 2008

http://j-fer-rose.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 25, 2008. While the official Apartment Therapy Cure is long over, I've still been making some small improvements and will make updates here occasionally. I possess one and only one piece of real art, a painting by my sister. I decided it deserved a real frame, not the Ikea frames I use in the rest of my home. I got a recommendation for a DC frame shop that lets you do some of the work yourself to reduce costs. The frame looks great! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

J-fer's Home Cure: Catching up

http://j-fer-rose.blogspot.com/2009/10/catching-up.html

Sunday, October 25, 2009. I've been catching up this weekend. This morning I cleaned out three big cupboards, one food cupboard and two storage cupboards. I was unpleasantly surprised by some of my discoveries, such as a couple expired and very sticky Luna bars. I still need to clean my pantry and then I should be caught up with my assignments. I've already started a good pile of stuff to give away. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Find me on Flickr. Washington, DC, United States. One Piece at a Time.
