Lasercutter fun - Mini Mishmash
http://mini-mishmash.blogspot.com/2016/03/lasercutter-fun.html
Back again, and this time I have a lot of catching up to do, with only a few pictures to show for it! A few weeks ago my order from the commercial lasercutter Snijlab came in the mail, along with some other things I had been waiting for (im)patiently. As you can imagine, all things not one inch scale were put on hold and our kitchentable became a cluttered mess of minis once again. I also forgot to make decent photos at almost every step, so my sincerest apologies for any missing process pictures! And th...

Ends and new beginnings - Mini Mishmash
http://mini-mishmash.blogspot.com/2016/10/ends-and-new-beginnings.html
Ends and new beginnings. It seems I tempted fate by ending my last post with a promise of 'new things very soon'. Because then summer came, with lots of trips and fun things, and my little room dissapeared onto high shelve. And after summer ended, it was studies and a busy internship that kept me away from the minis. But I made this room with versatility in mind! I love that I can swap out most of the furniture, and make a new scene everytime I feel like it. Finicky painting, why won't you hang straight?

Windows and curtains - Mini Mishmash
http://mini-mishmash.blogspot.com/2015/10/windows-and-curtains.html
Encouraged by your lovely comments I wanted to show you some of my progress on the roombox today. :). Source: www.thefashionmedley.com. My idea for the space was to have the large industrial windows, and overall downtown loft feel to the place. I originally wanted to get the windows lasercut, and had already finished the design to get it done at a commercial lasercutter in Rotterdam. However, being a student I am always on a budget, and in the end I decided I could do it myself. For some extra industrial...

Pipe Shelving - Mini Mishmash
http://mini-mishmash.blogspot.com/2016/02/pipe-shelving.html
Long time no see! Sometimes life just gets in the way of mini making. Sadly, for the past few months my studies have been keeping me very busy, and I couldn't find the time to sit down and write up this blogpost. But I hope to get back in the swing of things. So for today I have for you some pictures of how I made this shelving unit. On to the miniature version! I took some small plastic tubing, and a hairdryer, to curve the top of the 'pipes'. I heated the plastic to bend it. I forgot to take pictures o...

A bazillion echeveria - canceled. Sunday, March 05, 2017. I was getting something off the top shelf of my bookcase today when I took a good look at the dusty mess that is the flower garden of the Michigan Lake Cottage. 0160; It is a pain to clean without damaging it. Why would I do that to myself again? The planted roof on this kit will be plastic, and removable, so that I can take it off the top of the house and spray it clean in the shower. Ive got almost enough plants already. Sunday, March 05, 2017.

The first steps - Mini Mishmash
http://mini-mishmash.blogspot.com/2015/10/the-first-steps.html
For my very first post, I'd like to show you the progress I've made on my first room box. Now, for some clarification, I make all my miniatures on the small kitchen table in the very tiny shipment container (! Where my boyfriend and I live. Yes, really, I live in a shipment container. It's actually rather homey, and as far as student housing goes in Amsterdam, we've been quite fortunate. I made the floor from a piece of leftover cardboard covered with the actual planks. Now of course I should never have ...
