Dueck's Roost: July 2015
http://duecksroost.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 25, 2015. This is going to be a hard one. No way around it. This experience was difficult to live through and still gives me a pit in my stomach when I think back on it. At the same time, there were some beautiful moments and I suppose some positives that came from it all. This type of scene is most of what I remember from those early moments at Harborview. In no time at all, Porter was headed into surgery, and Kevin and I were left shell-shocked and waiting. If I remember right, surge...

Dueck's Roost: July 2013
http://duecksroost.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 22, 2013. Three boys at a poll. Three monkeys (I mean boys) on a poll. Now that is life at the Dueck house! Posted using BlogPress from my iPad. Another great Mother's Day come and gone. So grateful to my sweet children and thoughtful husband for my tasty breakfast (chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes). Yum-O. And of course grateful for the wonderful mothers and grandmothers in my life. Couldn't ask for better examples, supporters, and friends! Posted using BlogPress from my iPad. Learning...

Dueck's Roost: finally, a friend party;)
http://duecksroost.blogspot.com/2015/03/finally-friend-party.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Finally, a friend party;). Brooks had been waiting for a "friend party" for quite a while. For some reason it never seemed to work out or be the right timing. His 7th b-day, though, finally changed that. Admittedly, it was probably not a conventional birthday party. In fact, B's awesome older siblings really ran the whole thing. They taught Brooks and his friends how to make paper Chinese lanterns. Then Porter and James organized a game of soccer. Brooks enjoyed some presents!

Dueck's Roost: May 2013
http://duecksroost.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 2, 2013. Sunny day in seattle. So, during Easter weekend we were also able to make a trip to downtown Seattle, specifically Pike's Place area. We hadn't been there since the boys were little, and between the parking lot scammer and all the interesting people (girl in a very ornate leather muzzle probably wins the prize) I think it was quite an education for them. In line at Peroshky Peroshky (kinda a family tradition). Didn't go on it. But it does look pretty out by the water. All of them .

Dueck's Roost: April 2014
http://duecksroost.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 18, 2014. Stand in holy places. Why is it that everything seems to happen all at once instead of spaced out in nice little bite-sized segments? An a unavoidable fact of life I suppose. In just the first several days of July- give or take a bit, we drove to and from Utah (and played a lot in between), hauled James daily to scout camp, traveled to/spoke at our stake youth conference (youth group weekend event), celebrated our 14-year anniversary (post to follow), and who knows what else.

Dueck's Roost: October 2014
http://duecksroost.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 9, 2014. Okay, well it's official, I'm the most behind that I've ever been on our blog. 15 whopping months. Yep, more than a full calendar of empty pages (or posts). Yikes! Let's see, where was I? Oh, yes, on to our first family trek up Mt. Si. In case it hasn't been obvious enough, one thing our family does, is hike! Mt Si is a pretty popular hike. Maybe because of the distance from Seattle (only about 45 minutes), the fact that it's something of a challenge without being too chall...

Princess of Fire: November 2009
http://seattlefireprincess.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 27, 2009. To eat or not to eat? Since I can't fathom Thanksgiving without gluttony, I tried every trick to convince Savannah that eating is more fun than not eating. We made pancakes for breakfast, but she refused to touch them. (Seriously, are we related? After many other failed attempts at even getting her to taste something, I whipped out the Holy Grail of kid bribes in our house - olives! When it was finally time to go to Grandma's for dinner, Savannah threw the loudest and most inte...

The Jackson Family: May 2009
http://nateandamyjackson.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 31, 2009. Remembering our family veterans. Grampee's headstone. We were able to see many other family members at the cemetery as well including Gramee, Jeff and Shirley, and Brad and Andrea. The weather was just absolutely perfect, which apparently is very rare for Memorial day in Washington. Me trying to get Casey to walk. He still prefers to crawl though. We also stopped by Grandpa Jackson's grave and saw that other family had already visited. They left flowers and a balloon. Across the str...
