The Melanson Clan: March 2011
http://melansonclan.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
An attempt to actually have a journal. Thursday, March 31, 2011. Night of the Notables. Courtney had her Night of the Notables before I went to Crescent City. She was Eleanor Roosevelt. The kids have to learn about their person, write a paper on them and dress like them for their night. The adults have to ask yes or no questions to try to figure out who they are. It is always a fun night. Pete likes to embarrass the kids. That's why he comes. (Other than supporting his kid.). Posted by Julie and Pete.

Tuesday, August 19, 2008. Italy Trip Day 11. We did get to do a little bit of exploring through the old city, and saw many quaint and picturesque alleyways and houses. We were also surprised to find out that Orvieto has a spectacular cathedral- similar to Siena's, but even more impressive, we thought. The detail work- both the sculpture and inlaid mosaics were incredible! They just make me happy! Italy Trip Day 10. There were rows and rows of artifacts that had been found during excavation in Pompeii, in...

Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Italy Trip Day 4. We spent practically the whole day on the ferry, in the middle of the Mediterranean . We whiled away the time by playing games (Clue, Slamwich), listening to Chuck read from the Lord of the Rings, exploring the ship, and playing tag on the helipad. We finally spotted Sicily as the sun was starting to go down, and by the time they finally let us disembark (also a very unorganized process), it was quite late. Italy Trip Day 3. To top it all off, he led us through...

VanDamFam: Looking for Green in February
http://tamvandam.blogspot.com/2009/02/looking-for-green-in-february.html
Saturday, February 7, 2009. Looking for Green in February. Even though it is still a few months away, this is about the point of winter where I get anxious for spring to make its appearance. Cold and snow is fun in December- even festive! With all these thoughts in mind, I made it my mission to keep my eyes peeled for signs of spring- sunshine, blue sky, and anything green! Even moss and lichen make me feel more hopeful. As Dickon would say, "It's wick! And it gives me hope- spring IS on it's way! Februa...

Tuesday, June 3, 2008. Day 1—Monday, May 12. Perhaps the most noteworthy events while at the Vaira’s, though, were the meals. For dinner, we were first served some delicious pasta. The Melanson Clan: May 2011
http://melansonclan.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
An attempt to actually have a journal. Monday, May 30, 2011. A stop in Crescent City. Before we left we had Dad take our picture in front of the house. On our way up to Crescent City we stopped at the Klamath bridge and took our picture with the Gold Bears. We found another one with it's baby. Justin found the next one. The tide pools were empty today but sometimes they are amazing. Dad came along for the ride and enjoyed being out of the house. We stopped by the cemetery to see Grandma and Grandpa Kurtz.
