Jul 14, 2013. I bet that's why most of the stories we hear growing up includes anecdotes of how our folks had "almost" made it. These anecdotes typically starts with the transitive verbs: would've, should've, or could've, and ends with that 19th century appeal to the senses : "if I only did such and such. ". I feel ashamed now of how I thought back then. The tables have indeed turned. I wonder of what my eldest is thinking whenever my wife and I talk about my "would/should/could" story? Leave me a message.

Aug 14, 2013. Another little bitter pill. Nearly a quarter to go in to what is one of the most difficult year I've ever had to go through - I find myself psyching-up. For an overseas job appointment while barely a month-and-a-half with a new company. After a very disappointing short stint with a-technical-solution-engineering-company. That shall remain nameless. It is also noteworthy to say that the overseas opportunity is NOT without its share of problems and challenges. Right of the bat, it present...

Apr 7, 2014. Life is like a box of chocolates. People tend to judge quickly over matters they don't truly understand. Its also human nature to fear things they do not comprehend. Its a tool that served mankind well. for survival's sake. However, we have come a long way since the dawn of civilization itself. In the last millenia alone, the human person had transformed himself from a simple stones and spear hunter to a much sophisticated predator, clad with reason and intellect. If you are part of the huma...

Jul 26, 2010. Thoughts on P-Noy’s first State of the Nation talk. President elect Benigno Aquino III was scheduled to deliver his first State of the nation address (SONA) yesterday, 26 July. I missed the event, although I managed to catch up today by reading the transcription online - you can read the English translation of the speech here. Jul 25, 2010. Oct 13, 2010. Wishing Wells and Magic Spells. I often times (day) dream about how would my life be without any financial worries. I usually spend at least a good 2-hours, interspersed within the day of course doing this. Sometimes when I thought I'm on to something, you'd see me all enthused and hyped-up talking to people and pitching my ideas as if I have truly experienced them first hand. Obviously, I'm still in the same financial rut which means that my enthusiasm usually stops there.

Mar 18, 2014. Corporate life used to be simple. You know what your role is. your set of responsibilities, and most importantly, you know how to carry them out. For over a decade and a half I've done my best to ensure that I discharge my duties as efficiently as one can. I have proven and had distinguished myself from the average Joe. Having been told that I am no longer but a "Glorified Secretary" sends me in to a dark place. Colleagues tell me to vent my technical appetite elsewhere and just enjoy it wh...

Jun 9, 2013. Holding down two jobs ain't funny. I know it's been a while since I last wrote something, there's been a lot going on in the last 18 months that made sure that "down time" is as rare a commodity as platinum is to gold. However, I will try to summarize things down, if not just to document them for my own reference. I held two full-time jobs in 2012, one was consultancy and the other a regular post. I honestly tried to hold out as long as I can. I even went as far as to "reprogram" my enti...

Aug 6, 2013. It was always whenever you're down with problems from work, finances, health, and family stuff that a person tends to finally find time to cross examine one's spiritual self. Whenever I look back in my life, I always somehow feel uncomfortable to discuss my own personal spiritual journey. Maybe it was just an immature, hormone laden, teenage renegade phase that I was on at the time, but I remember that I was just impossibly upset and angry at god. I was so fired up that years of repressed qu...
