Not surprised to see (and hear) roosters and chickens just about any place in Mexico. Is a welcome sound to us. In fact, we like them so much there will be four, pine rooster rocking chairs on our terrace. The chair backs have colorful, hand-carved roosters. Had them made in a small, furniture-making town near here called Apaseo el Alto. He’s a good egg.

Arrived in San Miguel de Allende to build a casa in October. Had a rental for only a month so shopped for another. Found one just three blocks from our building site. Great to be near our property. So we could rent that unit. They departed last Saturday and we began moving our boxes (and those great rockers and the cannon ballsand, the bull carving) that afternoon.
