Ideas related to contemporary art and media. Buzz Bissinger and me. Hangin’ with the latte set. Holistic shoe shopping →. 8 June, 2011. After years of anticipation, I finally made my first visit to Footscray Market. I expected lots of colour, movement and a sense of ALIVENESS. Alas, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. Rows of vegetables, meat on hooks, people making a living, people saving money; it was all rather subdued. Preston Markets is more my style. This entry was posted in Places.

Tacita Dean – Kodak: exposure in the dark. 20 June, 2009. Yesterday I went to the Tacita Dean exhibition. At ACCA (Australian Centre for Contemporary Art), in Melbourne. Dean makes you stop and think. Her films make you stop and watch. It’s only by staying in a moment for much longer. But that you begin to. The small, seemingly insignificant details R...

Writing about architecture, art, film, memory, cartography, motion and (e)motion, Bruno maps a cultural history of spatio-visual arts. Bruno argues that although we think of film as a vi...

Ideas related to contemporary art and media. Buzz Bissinger and me. Buzz Bissinger and me. I’ve just read the Sept. 1998 Vanity Fare article written by Buzz Bissinger called ‘ Shattered Glass’. No warning. Chuck out the road map, we’re heading cross-country. This ‘editorial’ is done as a small chunk – not backstory it’s. To momentarily jolt the reader. I’m sure this has broken another literary journalism rule, but I don’t have the wherewithal to know what! One response to “ Buzz Bissinger and me. You are...

June 5, 2008. Filed under: transient spaces. 8212; merlotmags @ 3:14 am. Do looks really matter, or is it what’s inside that counts? I’m starting to become concerned and self-conscious about whether my web page is ‘pretty enough’. Let’s face it, if there isn’t lust at first sight, are you going to be compelled to explore further?
