Another friends visit :). After christmas and new years we had another visit from two friends from Sweden. We took them to places in Guadalajara and one day we went to Chapala, the biggest lake in Mexico which is about 1 hour outside of Guadalajara. We also went to the coast again (:D) and we stayed 3 days in Puerto Vallarta and another 3 days at my grandparents house in Nayarit. We found these parrots eating in a tree close to our apartment in Guadalajara. The view from the hotel rooftop. The Pacific Co...

The mexican street food is one of the many good things with this country :). It's very good, very cheap and there are places everywhere that are open late. Even in the smallest village you will find a simple street food stand that are open almost all night long. Upper right side: A burger with mushrooms, bacon and cheese. Down from left: the baked potato with filling and the salad bar. The place is popular so during night time there's always people there. Etiketter: Mexican Street Food. One of the best d...

The pacific coast, Nayarit. We finally made it to the beach! Jonas is excited to take his first swim. And off he goes! The restaurants has hammocks to relax in. The water was nice and warm, like a hot tub! Playa de los cocos. And some more reading. :P. Location of the beaches. On the mexican countryside. Wide trees by the river. A big fruit that looks like a pear. It cannot be eaten but in the old times they dried them and used them as water bottles. Today it is often used as decoration. It's a lot of sh...

A Sunday in Guadalajara. Sundays is also a calm day (if you are not on one of the markets :P) when most of the mexicans rest. In Guadalajara some of the big avenues are closed for bicycling, running, skating and more and it's called "La via RecreActiva". I think it's a very nice concept which makes the car traffic decrease and people to go work out. En small market with hand crafts by Av, Juarez. Mexican sandals in a store in the centre. Beautiful bikes at the market of La calle 38. Men bio är så billigt...

San Luis Potosí, La Huasteca Potosina, day 3. On the third day we went back to Guadalajara. But we got up early to be able to do some stops on the road. La Huasteca potosina. Has a lot of beautiful places to offer with it's beautiful nature, rivers, lagoons and waterfalls. For the adventurous one I can really recommend to do the rafting! We were going to try other water activities as well with the organization Huaxteca. It was still worth the trip anyway. If you want to visit the Huasteca. On the Sunday ...

The things I see and document. One of my favorite things to do on my spare time is to take my camera and stroll down the streets to see what I see. Here in Guadalajara you always discover something new and interesting. An interesting area, a new café or people working with interesting things could be one of them. Here are some of my phototgraphies taken on my walks. One day I will have a colorful house here like these ones :). And suddenly it feels like you are in Japan :P. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

My photography exhibition at Colegio de Fotografía de Occidente. During our stay in Mexico I studied a six month photography course at a very warm and welcoming little private school called Colegio de Fotografia de Occidente. To get the diploma the final thing you had to do was having an exhibition with an optional theme. My theme was "Colores de Mexico" (colors of Mexico) since I love everything that the colorful mexican culture has to offer. My exhibition with the theme "Colores de Mexico":. And at our...

Visit from the parents-in-law. We are back home in Sweden since April now, but I feel that this blog is not complete yet since I didn't manage to post anything from our last time in Mexico. In march we had Jonas's parents on a visit for three weeks. We did a little bit of everything, such as sightseeing in Guadalajara, visited Ajijic and went to the pacific coast. The first day we went to my aunts place on the country. It's a nice place to escape the city life for a while and enjoy the greens. Watching t...
