Modifying the Front Bumper. The standard Colt/Summit/Lancer bumper can of course be replaced by a variety of body kits. My aim was to keep the car looking as ex-factory standard as possible, in part to not attract unwanted attention. I also wanted to add some decent quality driving lights into the bumper area. The new driving lights when mounted in the bumper would look something like this. So the flexible polyurethane bumper has to be modified and suitable brackets for the driving lights fabricated.

Upgrading to Hella Projectors. The orginal headlights can be replaced with some effort. Hella DE 90mm projectors were chosen. Don't throw out the old lights, even of they are otherwise useless. The new lights look pretty lame without some lens covers. These can be manufactured out of fibreglass, but you already have the basic shape available. Cut the polycarbonate lenses off the old light assemblies. The result (less the bezel tubes) looks like this.
