Monday, August 03, 2009. Should have knocked on wood. It was just last week that I was noting to myself how Odessa and I haven't been sick very much this year. Especially compared to last year, when it felt like we came down with some version of the cold/flu EVERY WEEK. And because having one ill person in a family is never enough, today I spent twelve hours with the worst stomach pain I have had- maybe ever. The pain was on par with childbirth at times, and I was wishing I had access to an epidural.

Saturday, December 27, 2008. We had plans to stay at a cabin this christmas but the weather didn't cooperate and so we stayed home instead. Here is a picture of the tree and trimmings that we bought and threw together the day after Christmas. I had vowed to not purchase anything for the holiday, but that really depressed me.
